I was planning to have Robert feel like he's hearing murmuring/auditory hallucinations and like something is squeezing his mind during the time he's got the "flu".

What it turns out to be would be the gradual development/awakening of new powers until it's fully formed on day 5 and the thoughts he hears are actual voices rather than vague murmurings.

Dammit.

Ah, to add onto what I was thinking before, I was thinking maybe Jae's fever would be way higher than the rest, but he'd still be as functional as most of the people (other than ones like Robert). And that would be the signs of his power. (Fever that gets worse the more he moves around, but isn't obvious enough for most people to notice (especially because Jae won't feel it))
