Well... Here's a low-down on the ranks available in each city. This is probably the only bit I have yet to add to the mechanics sheet, so it'll be there shortly after this post.

Stellite - Super, Hyper
Shakudo - Beginner, Normal, Super
Brittanium - Hyper, Master
Ormolu - Beginner, Normal, Super
Cobalt - Beginner, Normal, Super
Beryllium - Normal, Super, Hyper

There's no Beginner rank available in Beryllium and Brittanium, since they're both considered prestigious cities.

Now, basically when you start, you can only do Beginner. By winning 3rd, 2nd, or 1st place in Beginner, you qualify for the next rank, and so on.

However, to qualify for Hyper, you need to be in 2nd or 1st place.

And to qualify for Master, you need to have won in 2 Hyper Contests in 3rd or 2nd place, or win 1 Hyper Contest in 1st place.

So make your plans. It can be quick, or long, depending on your skill.
