He's the guy who always picks dare, and always plays rock. Notoriously high-energy and easily excitable, Novis doesn't take too much seriously and is generally just there for the ride. Not to say he doesn't have passion (he has it in spades), but his talent is rolling with the punches. He's more of a in-the-present type of guy, y'know? Generally doesn't worry about the future, and especially doesn't worry about the past.

First things first: no, Novis [i]hates[/i] dragon-types. One might expect a tragic "a mega-Haxorus killed my parents and now I must avenge them" backstory, but no, he thinks it's because an Axew bit his hand when he was young and now he's just kinda afraid of them. Awkward, when you live in a city with a dragon-type gym leader.

Except he didn't really live there too long, considering one of his earliest memories was moving to his Uncle's place in Damascus town. It was pretty standard living for a while-- minus the gripping phobia of dragon-types-- and the only real irregularity was that his single uncle worked in the mines way too long and Nov was pretty alone everyday 'till late in the evening. Thus, he took to taking care of his uncle's Growlithes. They were fairly popular and sold quickly, so they just let their Arcanines have a puppy every once in a while. To occupy the boredom between friends and school or whatever, he just took care of them. It was a pretty good time, and once he was older, Nov started taking it more seriously and basically bred fire-types part-time with his Uncle, who still worked in the mine, albeit less than when Nov was a tween.

Did you know Espeon and Growlithe can breed? Well, they can, and now he's just kinda here to beat the league one day and maybe catch an ice-type or two. Standard stuff.
