Shiranui saw he would be facing Sashia in the semis.[hr]His first opponent had sent out a Farfetch'd and Shiranui sent his shiny Aegislash into battle.  Some of the people were astonished to find out the sword on Shiranui's back was an actual Pokémon.  Farfetch'd put up a good fight, but Yoto's demonstration of various swordplay moves won Shiranui the first spot in the semi-final by a knockout.
