[@December] Basically, Grayson won't be interacting with a conscious/consciousness of Robert, even if he enters Robert's mind. 

For Grayson... I suppose it might be a little like interacting with an unfamiliar world or something rather than an interaction with a living/aware person. Not sure. Depends on how Grayson would see Robert's mind.
