The head didn't no much damage to Kerg, as he was wearing military grade armor in his chest area. Kerg's armor genetated shield also decreased the damage.  His tough Krogan biology absorbed the rest of the damage. It was enough to begin the blood rage.

The Krogan continues to slam Ridley with melee attacks. Kerg might bring out his weapons soon.
