Jacques is a stubborn man who will oft times get stuck in his own ways rather than admitting to his own faults, not that he wont eventually agree after years of persuasion. With that said, he is easy to embrace the change of the world, accepting innovations of all kinds. This change within how the world works tends to make him look forward to life, wanting to see how others will get along. That said, he distrusts people as he knows of their selfishness, only caring about themselves rather than doing the right thing and truly helping their respective communities grow and help those down on their luck. 

This priest is, however, not one to hold his emotions down like the rest of the Church as he believes that is just unhealthy. Passion is the one thing he has, it is the passion towards God that he will refuse to give up as he would rather die than give into a different religion. With that stated, he does not tolerate other religions very well, or anyone against his morals for that matter. Jacques dislikes those who would be considered gay, heretics, and even other races from time to time. He is the typical man and he wishes to be nothing less.

The family has always been fractured to say the least. Jacques mother, Mary Clerc, was the standard whore who got pregnant by a rich aristocrat, luckily she stayed with his father, Jean Clerc, who so happened to have been born into the family business of plantation owning. The aristocrats that were Jacques' late grandparents had started the business and had seven other children, his father being the oldest child and thus all the inheritance, gave the estate to Jean when they became too old to really tend to it themselves. 

Come the French Revolution in Paris, the family quickly fled the country with what valuables they could take with them in such a hurry, along with their children Jacques and Mercy Clerc. Upon arriving in England, the family was quickly met with distaste until Clerc was shot in cold blood, having been blamed for bringing the Soulless to the world. Naturally this did not go over well with Jean, who fled to Hampshire with his children. Mercy grew up the same way that Mary had, a whore, using her body to get money. Jean became a banker, using his previous wealth to raise himself to a status that he could comfortably live with.

Jacques Clerc grew up knowing wealth was his friend, the very aristocratic ideals being pushed into him by his father. The concept of family being no that of everyone having dinner together, but instead tutoring your son how to properly extort people for money. Quickly, Jacques grew to have a distaste with his father until his sister, Mercy, was born which took the attention of him, purely. The family soon introduced Jacques to the Holy Bible, Jacques soon became enthralled, taking a natural liking to the book. The boy grew up living by the bible and going to a Catholic school. This school entertained him, helping his coup with his mother's cruel death.

There he let his wonder for the ancient stories wonder, letting them fester and only enrage his curiosity to the point where he went on a Pilgrimage to Jerusalem when he was an adult. He had escaped just in time to avoid any skirmishes between the English and French navies, luck aiding him on his journey. Upon landing in the holy city, Jacques set to work, retracing the journey of Abraham through the country, meeting many faces he would never forget. One such face was his now bitter rival, Enoch ben Raz, who was his spiritual guide along his journey, teaching Jac to keep the Soulless at bay rather than fight them head on. Later, he traced the journey of Jesus Christ, having help from an Egyptian man, Babafemi, who taught Jacques how to speak and write Egyptian as well as use some of ancient weaponry. 

Upon returning to Hampshire with his family, Jacques decided to become a priest for the Church of England, finding it may help him in the never ending journey of life. However, upon visiting his family, he was greeted with sin as his father satisfied his greed of money, and his poor sister went about committing adultery time and time again. He grew cynical due to them, finding that most people only acted out of their own selfish intentions, he knew someday they would turn Soulless. The worst part is, he hoped that they did. To escape them, he moved back to London.

Later on, Jacques hopes to live a decent life like a normal person; being able to get married and maybe even have children of his own. He wants to grow up old with a family and to actually experience what a family should be like in his eyes. He also wishes to travel to the United States of America and study them, maybe there he will find that love that he wants, maybe not. Jacques will just be happy finding love one day, that rare thing that he believes every couple truly lacks.

Jean Clerc has always acted out of money and that infuriates Jacques to no end, finding that his father only acts of his own selfish needs. Meanwhile, Jean finds Jacques' generosity appalling and the fact that Jacques refuses to join him to become a banker is beyond Jean. However, the two find time to meet and only talk because the two do not wish to see Mary continue her life of being a whore. Through that commonality, they stay in touch without speaking face to face most times, neither wanting to waste energy arguing.

Jacques and Mary speak often, but it almost always ends in argument due to Jacques' disapproval of Mary's occupational status and pushes her to become something grander. On the other hand, Mary does not like that Jacques constantly pushes her, finding that her job does her well and that she is a grown woman. While once the brother and sister were close, both now do not like talking to one another yet Jacques refuses to give up on her, knowing she can do something better.

Babefemi was an excellent man in the eyes of Jacques and is proud to call him a friend due to the help that Babefemi had given Jacq on his pilgrimage. The two have travelled and trained together, it only makes sense that Jacques keep in contact with the man and meet him every now and again.

Once upon a time, Jacques and Enoch had been friends, but hate and rivalry now stand between the two from ever having the friendship again. After Enoch renounced his faith to go and join monks in Tibet, Jacques swore that one day, he would deliver him to hell himself.

Millicent regularly goes to Church and is a very selfless woman who helps both the poor and the Church, making her a good person in the eyes of Jacques. He even helps her with her home situation as well as pray with her for her father's safety.

Jacques respects Mary's profession but that is where it really ends, having met her only a few times. She has trained with the Swiss Guard while he has been on a more spiritual journey, complimenting each other in terms of training. They are rather civil with one another and Jacques will help when the time comes, albiet reluntantly.
