i know i want ot go down the route that he was of royal blood (does not know it) but his parents were banished to the winter court (hence why he has a winter court mentality). Came back and joined their fall court's military when he was old enough, proved to be a capable fighter and moved upward there. Had a love, lost her in either war or skirmish or uprising. Now his sword bares her name (not important but hey).

managed to prove how capable he was when he began using magic in battle and killing en masse earning him the nickname Wraith of War. became sargent, lt, captain until he jumped in rank to general due to uprising. stayed loyal afterwards.

this is a clusterpuck of a idea but the point is i just want him to have a good story that will fit this plot so far... v.v
