So salamanders are a race I kind of mishmashed into a cool thing
Your character might have a faced a few that take human shape
They can control fire

There are messenger and non (basically...I had it a bit more complicated but a summary is helpful)
Non are those that take human form and can speak and be understood
Messenger keep salamander shape and can transport from hearth to hearth with messages. They mostly gurgle so really only other salamanders and Feoras can understand them.

There's also water salamanders but those are considered 'wild' similar to messenger salamanders they keep their shape but water instead of fire

Your character again would probably have experienced the non messenger ones
