There's only so much treachory one can cause before whole kingdoms align themselves together to attack one demon. Hundreds of men wouldn't have been an issue, nor the scores of cavalry, or half a dozen pissed off kings and queens. Having grown weary with war Neroq took on a human form to cause less world catastrophes, merely causing mischief instead while in disguise. With the passage of time Neroq has come into land, more than just a farm, but rather a sizable kingdom with servants, slaves, and the rest of the gambit. The people know nothing of their "king", nor do they even know that there is none. all they see is an empty throne as the 'sickly and dying' king is kept behind closed doors. Instead they look to the prince, Revlum Neroq. He's known as a tyrant, striking down those in his path merely because they looked at him wrong. None dare rise in his presence for fear of losing their head with a mere swipe of his sword, none truly know what he is either. The kingdom lives in fear of the faceless king and the diabolical prince, kneeling in fear while trapped within the walls. Those smart enough to maneuver the treacherous politics either ally themselves entirely to the crown or do their best to fake it. Others plot to rise up against the crown and overthrow him entirely. Lastly, the lowest have accepted the fate of the kingdom, no longer fighting against the chains that bind them. There is something Revlum did not account for, gaining the kingly crown of the very kingdom he built. The lie of a sickly king was one that was eaten up by the public and now by tradition he needs to marry another royal. While it would have been easy to just assume the throne the last thing he needed was to give the rebels more of a reason to fight, still battle weary from centuries past. Whether he takes a wife by force, or somehow find one willing to marry him, he knows its a deed that must be done.
