Background: Shana is daughter to the lazy miller of the village. Her mother was the seamstress, but she passed away a couple of years ago from a terrible illness. After his wife's death, the miller became lazy, listless, and alcoholic. The only other member of Shana's family who is still alive, is her little brother James, who is ten years old as of now. James was a very energetic young lad, until just recently, he caught a terrible illness as well. Shana is now working much more so than before in order to get enough money to not only pay rent, but to also get the medicine needed to cure her little brother's illness. 
What she doesn't know is that her parents had fled from a different nation, a nation that was being invaded by strange and powerful beings that weren't human at all, but had the guises of humans.
