“Don’t worry, Greg” Dawn started “Nothing inherently dangerously like that. Merely a tool that could help us sustain the power we have. After all, the UNF is tasked with the safety of all of Fortus. We need to be steps ahead of the game. Or so I was told.” He relays this information to the fellow Captain with a nonchalant demeanor. From the looks of it, the ethical bounds of humanity were not being crossed with this mission. “Rules of engagement: UNF officials, soldiers and allies will make their presence known with a “friendly” hail. I wouldn’t be gunning down children or families that end up in your path but I’ll make sure to have all your Valks and vehicles set up with a list of potential hostiles to look out for. Dawn continued, pacing back forth as he answered. Not in a nervous, more so of busy energy. “As far as a time limit, since it’s close to about 300 miles or so it’ll take at least half a day if not more depending on fuel and energy usage. I mean, as long as you don't take weeks to complete this op, it should be fine. I see you guys finishing it in about 3 or so days round trip. “Most of your additional resources you’ll pick up when you link up with the VIP in Priscus. A guide will lead the way for those of you unfamiliar. The VIP will be held up in a special truck that you all will have open channels to. Otherwise, use your own Valks and vehicles. If you don't got one, choose one of the spares we got in the Hanger we got here” He pauses to check his sheet before addressing Kevin. “Once you make contact with the VIP and the lab, respectfully, I’ll be alerted and send it up the chain. As far as points of rendezvous? That’s something you gotta work out yourselves when you see the map. You’re a smart bunch, plus you got Captain Gregory in your team. You should be fine~” He spoke with some levity, sure of the success but perhaps a bit more if one were to look into it. With a swift motion, Dawn downs the rest of his coffee and sits on the desk behind him. “That clear a few things up? Speak now or forever hold your peace, soldiers.” This comment seems to be directed more so to the rest of alpha team rather than the Captain, himself.
[@Hell Coos][@The 4 Winds][@Valor][@Marquise] =====
Commander Hale stood in silence as Aura shook with intensity. To a normal person, this would shake them in their boots. Aura was not the type of person you wanted to upset, despite her size. However, Hale met her icy glare with one of clarity and reassurance. “Aura, I wouldn’t ask this of you if these people were entirely innocent.” Her tone, controlled and concise, she continues “In one way or another, the men and women who signed up with the Feddies are responsible for the deaths of many innocent people. They’re no children, and no random bystanders at this base. Purely military and tactical killers.” She pauses and steps forward, closer to Aura and visibly intense. “People at this base I’m sending you to have killed our men, Aura. Our family. And aim to hurt our cause. All in the name of peace. If you think me the same evil as those who look down on the poor and the weak, and the hungry, like ants underfoot, then you have my permission to shoot me now.” With her last word, she reaches for her own sidearm and slams it on the table nearby, sliding it closer to Aura. A tense pause passes before Hale takes a breath, stepping away from Aura and the gun, recomposing herself for Neil’s question. Leave it to him for some much needed levity. “Honestly, if you can successfully sneak, get whatever they have and get out? More power to you. To reiterate, you are to leave no survivors IF they catch you. You’re not caught? You leave with your hands clean.” She says with a shrug. “However, our resources are limited here. I’ll send you more details on this base and this … “thing” in a bit. As much as I love being able to say all this in front most of you-” Hale looks around. “- what we’re getting is classified stuff that only this amazing team should and will know.” Hale took a breath again and faces the team she was sending off. “I chose you for this, you know that? All three of you. Fadio gave me specific orders to choose who I felt were the best to get this job done. You three can.” Despite the glare, Hale looks upon her captain with warm eyes. “Aura, you’ll make sure these two will make it back here alive. You care and you’re strong. You’ve been doing this for years and you know how to complete an operation like this. I trust in your leadership to do whats right” Her gaze turns to Yazmin “Yazmin, you’re a bit new here but you’ve been a great asset to us. You’re seeing the truth of what the UNF really is and using what you know to help keep our men and women safe. For that, I thank you. I need you to get this done. I’m trusting you to.” She finally turns to Neil. “Neil … you crazy sonuva bitch-” She pauses for laughter that could be heard around her. “You’re one the best pilots I know and a reliable guy to have in a pinch. If anyone could make the impossible possible, it’s you.” Hale stiffens up before finishing. “To end the corruption that looms over this world, we have to take steps. This is one of the steps. Tipping the odds in our favor is worth the risk and the reward is victory. So … what do you say? You ready to be heroes?”
[@POOHEAD189][@Kyrisse][@Deadnaut]
