Anyway, if since the creation of humanity he has never used his powers, what makes this particular moment and individuals so special that would require him to use his powers? He wouldn't even use them if he faced an angel. OK maybe if he faced an archangel or that angel was dead set on smiting Lazarus. Talking about heavenly super powers here. Any other kind of strong individual, he would rather see them fight or act as a show, not getting involved.

And as mentioned again in the bio, he has perished a couple of times out of his consistency of never using his true powers.
