He looked left and right with gentle cranes of his neck, rolling his eyes at the obnoxiously cheerful atmosphere that threatened to suffocate him. The children playing games, couples dancing to music and merchants talked up their wares; the whole experience was starting to make him nauseous. There was a time when a Golem's Hand festival would excite the young man, but it was clear to anyone that Plutus' attitude had become significantly more hostile when anyone brought the festivities up. Truth be told, this would be his first year attending one without his mother. His attention was brought to a young adolescent being dragged along the festival grounds with his family, and rather begrudgingly at that. Plutus used to act the same way whenever his mum insisted on going together. Despite his indifferent, passive aggressive complaints, he had actually quite enjoyed spending the time together. He wished now that he could tell her that. Plutus was just about to continue past the food court, eager to see what bargains he could snatch from the local stalls, when a familiar face caught his eye. What he had mistaken for some gluttonous pig, stuffing his face with reckless abandon, was actually his good friend and team mate Nezar Bistrum. Messy hair, horrid table manners and a rather disheveled appearance; it was no wonder Plutus didn't recognise him. Nezar was usually much more composed than this. Shoving his keys in his vest pocket, Plutus loitered around Nezar's table for a moment before snatching a meat skewer from his plate with a grin. "Is this that whole 'Austerity' trend I've been hearing about?" Taking a load off on the chair opposite Nezar, Plutus took a nice long whiff of the succulent beef skewer. "You know, where rich people eat and act like poor people just 'cause it's fun." The young man added a mocking emphasis to his words, something Nezar would no doubt be quite used to by this point. Awaiting Nezar's own witty response, Plutus took a large bite out of his skewer.
