The only real limitation regarding a team I can think of that might cause a problem is let's just stick to secondary evolutions and below. But if you mean as in what you can have/catch or whatnot let's just have it be you can catch what you see in Alola. Your team can consists of Pokemon from other Regions though if your character came from another one to Alola, they just gotta fit into your backstory is all! :)
