[color=gray]“Agreed,”[/color] Leisy said, panicked. [color=gray]“Let’s hurry up.”[/color]

The rest of the trek — fueled by Leisy’s panic — went quickly. Soon enough the girls made it to the dark, murky township that was Stillwater. The air around the outskirts of the town felt heavier with both humidity and something else — something ominous. Still, the girls pushed on until the bright-colored rim of the Pokemon Center was visible. Gathering up the rest of her energy, Leisy jogged the last part of her journey and, panting, pulled out her Pokeballs one by one from her bag. 

[color=gray]“Can I — thanks,”[/color] Leisy said tiredly as the old man at the counter nodded, popping the five Pokeballs into the machine behind him. [i]Wait,[/i] Leisy thought, brows creasing as she counted her Pokeballs again, [i]five?[/i] Taking a deep breath, Leisy recounted the Pokeballs slowly by name. [i]Bidein, Naunet, Devinco, Cassia… But who’s that?[/i]

“Here you are,” the man said, handing Leisy her Pokemon. Looking behind the black-haired girl to Ella, the man grinned a friendly, gap-toothed grin. “You want your Pokemon healed up too, girlie? Rooms're in the back. It's awfully late out to be running around, so you two'd best rest up before the morning. Especially if you're thinking'a heading outta town.”

Leisy, however, only half-heard these words. Rather, she was busy fumbling through her Pokeballs. When her fingers finally grasped on the newest Pokeball, Leisy brought it up to the lights, trying to make out the Pokemon inside. “Just check 'yer Pokedex, girl. Pokemon 'ya own are all registered there,” the old man said from the counter. 

[color=gray]“Oh, thanks,”[/color] Leisy said with relief, realizing that she wouldn’t have to let the Pokemon out to see what it was. Pulling out her Pokedex and checking, she realized that the Gastly from earlier hadn’t disappeared — it’d stuffed itself into a Pokeball in her bag without her knowing. [color=gray]“Ella, the Gastly,”[/color] Leisy said, looking up, [color=gray]“it caught itself.”[/color]
