Merak "Mer" Shenly
Name: Merak “Mer” Shenly Species: Mirialan Gender: Male Age: 32 Height: 5 foot 7 in Weight: 123 Ibs Class: I guess he’s a Scoundrel? Idk XD Position: Mechanic/tech guy, could also pilot if needed Primary Strengths: Working with droids, hacking/slicing, repair work Appearance: Of average height and weight, Merak has enough muscle to be strong enough to haul droid parts and the like around without appearing “bodybuilder” like on the outside. He isn't exactly scrawny either, but is still slightly more slender of frame than your average human man. His skin tone falls within the yellow to orange hue that is common for his people, with raven black hair which he keeps short-cropped in order to keep it out of the way while he works, wouldn't want it getting caught in between a hydrospanner and any internal components, after all! His final defining feature are the black geometric tattoos taking triangular-like shapes, on the bridge of his nose, and on each cheek/beneath each eye.
Mainly for the facial tattoos and overall appearance, Attire wise he tends to dress in an outfit more like the following:
Weapons: Blaster pistol, and a standard cortosis-weave vibroknife in case he needs a close-range weapon though he much prefers to use the blaster Skills/Abilities: > Extremely talented with everything mechanical, be it droids, computers, ships, security systems etc. Mer just has a knack for being able to locate problems and fix them without doing too much damage to the components. > Fluently understands droidspeak and is able to translate/decipher most of their quirks and speech.

> Pretty good pilot, can fly both frieghters and fighter-style ships, still has the Krayt Fang and so can make supply runs etc. for the Enclave if needed, though it is currently not able to do overly strenuous missions due to system and hull damage from landing on Valkaina.

> A quick thinker and able to problem solve even under pressure (though still slips up occasionally as we all do!) Background: Born on the Mirialan homeworld, Mirial, most of Merak’s childhood was uneventful as he spent it in the shadow of his sister, Vano, who attracted more attention from their parents due to her displaying a talent with the Force in their early childhood. Being a highly spiritual people, it was natural that the family’s attention would turn to her though Merak wasn’t particularly bothered by it and in fact was just as curious and spent most of his time trailing after her rather than following his own path in life, so his skills would not be properly discovered or utilized until his early teens. The two siblings shared a relatively close bond though once Vano was spotted out by the Jedi and taken to Dantooine to train as a Padawan, Merak got used to being without his sister again as he would not hear from her for some time. With his sister gone, Merak was forced to pay more attention to where he wanted to go with his own career path, spending some time with the scholars on the homeworld in an attempt to learn more about the Force with the hopes of being able to follow his sister and leave the homeworld, though that didn’t last long and he quickly found that spending the day pouring over tomes and scrolls bored him to death. Abandoned that career path and spent a few more months dabbling in various things trying to find something that interested him, until he secured an apprenticeship under an older man who worked as a mechanic modifying and repairing starships and hyperdrives. Merak was found to have a natural talent for tinkering with all things mechanical and quickly progressed from working under his mentor to working solo, gathering together enough credits to purchase a second-hand Defender-Class Corvette (he didn't ask where it came from) which he named the “Krayt Fang” after the elusive beast native to Tatooine. He would then leave Mirial to seek out other employment opportunities as the Mandalorians began to creep out of their reaches of space and put pressure on the Republic. Ended up doing freelance mechanical/engineering work for various space stations until he landed a semi permanent post on the Peragus Mining Facility where he would spend a few years fixing faults in the droids systems and maintaining the facility's computers. During his work on Peragus he would pick up his droid companion, a simple KM1 unit that had begun to exhibit faulty behaviour and was earmarked for the scrap pile after ending up in the maintenance bay one too many times for functionality problems. Instead of throwing it out, however, Merak kept the droid (affectionately nicknaming it “Clanker” due to the noise it makes when it walks) as he was keen to try his hand at modifying it to re-specialise and help him to maintain the Krayt Fang which had laid unused in the facility’s hangar for some time due to the workload he had been faced with; the war with the Mandalorians was rapidly escalating in other parts of the galaxy which led to a high demand for starship fuel, the facility’s workers were pushed to get the quotas out as fast as they could. With some careful modification, Clanker was reprogrammed to serve as a companion/maintenance model to help Merak maintain the freighter’s computer systems, hyperdrive and outer plating. In order to meet the demand for fuel exports, Merak eventually moved from fixing droids to making fuel deliveries for the facility which would lead to him finally reestablishing contact with his sister albeit only briefly where they exchanged a few holocalls and she filled him in on the situation regarding the war and the Jedi Council's involvement in it. Her former Master was following Revan to war against the Mandalorians and she would be going with them, while the Republic frantically tried to fight off the Mandalorian assault the Jedi were taking too long to decide what to do and Revan had decided it was time to go against the Council’s wishes and take any other Knights or Padawans willing to go with them, she felt it was right that she join them too. The Republic had begun to call out for recruits to join their forces to bolster their war effort and in the hopes of catching up to Vano he took the Krayt Fang to Coruscant and enrolled to complete an intensive fighter pilot training course, though once he finished the training he was placed in one of the squadrons that would accompany Luthor and the other Jedi serving under him to the battle of Dxun rather than with any of Revan’s followers. Merak was one of the few survivors of that battle by the time Revan arrived to bail them out of the disaster and despite the poor judgement that had landed them in that situation he still placed his trust in Luthor as a commander, and would accompany him along with Revan and the Jedi forces to Malachor V where he was one of the fighter pilots involved in that bloody space battle. He was lucky enough to be on the very fringes of the bloodbath when Mandalore dispatched Revan and thus was able to regroup with Luthor and join the small contingent of survivors that would flee back to Coruscant. As the Mandalorians were fast advancing and it was important that they got as much of the archives out of the Jedi temple and to secret locations as possible, Merak volunteered the services of himself and the Krayt Fang for transporting both archives and/or any Jedi that would be taken with them, and accompanied Luthor to Valkaina. He still wishes he could have searched for his sister but everything happened so fast that he didn't have chance to enquire about her and as such he doesn't know whether she survived the massacre at Malachor and ended up being sent to one of the other secret Enclaves or whether she was one of the many lost to the battle. The Krayt Fang sustained some damage during their initial landing on Valkaina and Merak is in the process of assessing and repairing the damage to it, until he can do so the Fang is out of commission.
