People would toil day in, day out. But what for? People would always turn to their gods, thanking them when things went right for them. But what if things went wrong? They'd throw themselves to their knees. Claiming their gods had betrayed them. Ceridwen was like this for a time, until her eyes were opened. The false gods of this plane did not help them, nor did they betray them. They did nothing but take credit for its grand designs. It came to her in a flash of a vision. A mysterious figure, it's shape eluding, darting around the edges of her dreams. It was always there, watching her. Observing her. She could dream of anything, of loves labours, of impending apocalypse, or simply of nothing it would always be there. At first she did not know what it was. And truth be told she still does not know. But one day it stopped hiding itself so, it revealed itself to her, a great beacon of power. It caressed her mind with its own, reached out to her with unknown knowledge. It was clear to Ceridwen that this majestic being was older than anything which she had ever known, and vastly more wise and powerful. This Great Old One as she came to classify it. It was with the forbidden knowledge that she had been given that she set put on her own to turn the worlds views to acknowledge it. For that was its purpose. It was her protector, her guardian. Her guiding light in a world filled with darkness. She did not think of it as good, nor evil. Whichever classification it fell under she did not care. She would do anything for it, for she was its warlock and it was her patron. A bond as old as the test of time and magic itself.
Edit @7:38Pm GMT - realised I didn't go back to finish personality off. Done that now. Oops.
