Oh sorry I was too busy dwelling on my own awesomeness…” Player Name: DrewVonAwesome Character You Wish To Play: Tony Stark - Iron Man Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): Stark Industries CEO, senior at Forrest Hills High School Character Origin & Backstory: The son of Stark Industries CEO Howard Stark, and his wife Michelle. Tony grew up surrounded in the lap of luxury, but also by making sure he kept his head in the ground. Tony never saw a dime of the family fortune until he was around 9. When on his birthday he finally started to see the wealth come his way. Especially when it came to the fact Tony would usually end up getting to use and have most of Stark Industries’ newest tech items. Tony growing up was a proud young man, and he wasn’t afraid to show it. He was always able to somehow get the center of attention, even when he wasn’t even trying. Made all the worst that his genius intellect made it easier for him to have plenty to boast about. Even still, with all the bragging and big talk, Tony clearly had the gentleness and compassion his father hoped he would. By the time Tony Stark reached high school he was already being prepared by his father to inherit Stark Industries. However, when Tony, along with his mother and father, all traveled out to Japan to complete a business merger. The plane suffered sudden damage and crash landed at Tokyo’s airport. Michelle Stark killed from shrapnel, and Tony very badly injured, having a piece of metal lodged deep into his chest. Already hysterical from the lost of his wife Howard Stark took matters into his own hand. Taking Tony to the nearest hospital, and having a special emergency surgery done. As Howard had with him a special compact energy core, knowing it might be the only surefire solution to save Tony. He spent almost nine hours in surgery putting the core into Tony, and having it operate to keep the shrapnel inside of Tony from puncturing his heart. Still, the damage had been done. Heartbroken over the loss of his wife Howard fell into a deep hole of depression. Resorting to drinking and becoming unfit to run Stark Industries, the higher ups of the company came together and were shocked to realize that Howard had put in provisions not long ago. Which gave Tony Stark full CEO control over the company. Many scoffed the idea, some even took Tony to court over it. However none of it mattered as Tony was now in charge of the business. Howard Stark died from alcohol poisoning shortly after the news broke. But Tony could remember the last time he saw his father. Drunk, beshoveled, and in tears, however it was what his father told him that stuck. When Tony tried to pleaded with his father to change the ruling around so he wouldn’t be CEO anymore. His father looked at him, and even in his drunken stupor told him that it was no accident. Tony Stark was ready to be a CEO, no matter the age, or what anyone said. He believed in his heart Tony was ready. Tony grieved for the lost of his father, but quickly turned face knowing he had business to do. As all this happened Stark Industries’ stock prices plummeted, and became a joke with its new young CEO. Tony Stark quickly called a press conference, both to serve as a eulogy for his mother and father, but as a clear as day statement that he would take the responsibility seriously, and that he wouldn’t let anyone or anything soil his family’s name. That impassioned speech, along with Tony quickly having the company put out amazing new prototypes. Helped accelerate Stark Industries back from embarrassment in people’s eyes. Tony Stark now a days leads an interesting life, one half of the day taking care of his high schooling, which has seen his grades drop a bit since everything happened. While the rest of the time handled as much as he could of the company, otherwise he would have his father’s right hand man, James Rhodes, handle the workload. However recently, Tony Stark has started looking into the core his father put into him. Realizing its energy potential, but most of all. What kind of a system he could make with it. Powers and Abilities (What can you're character do? What can't they do?): By himself, Tony can’t do a whole heck of a lot besides be snarky and lovable, though very intelligent. However the biggest power Tony possesses lays in his Mark III armored suit. With as much tender loving care Tony could put into it, along with repulser rays in the boots and hands, allowing for both flight and combat capabilities, uni-beam projector in its chest (controlling the full range of the electromagnetic spectrum from blinding searchlights to cutting lasers), pulse bolts that pick up kinetic energy along the way, so that they hit harder the further they have to travel, an electromagnetic pulse generator and energy shield, the generation of ultra-freons, the creating and manipulating of magnetic fields, sonic blasts, and a holographic generator to create decoys. Plus guided missiles Tony had to work his ass off to get for the project. On top of the energy core in his chest, the suit is powers through solar rays cleverly hidden in the back. The suit gives him a superhuman strength, and the ability to withstand impact of both kinetic or explosive kind. On top of all this Tony has the helmet tuned to his personal assistant AI Jarvis (Named after a family butler who passed away when Tony was 10), and also functions as a top of the line computer. Storing data that is all voice and mind activated. Plus it has an MP3 player, 1tb worth, because sometimes he just needs some tunes when kicking ass. Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue): “Look Rhodes, just tell them that if the new smartphone designs aren’t ready by CES then that means we will be at a disadvantage, and we being at a disadvantage is a bad thing. I get that this is all coming up a little sudden on them, but… if they can finish the prototypes by CES tell them they’ll each get a 1,000 dollar bonus in their next paycheck. From my account too, none of that from the company funding. Cool, look I’m going to the mansion for a bit, you got everything at HQ? Good good, I’ll be over tomorrow and we can figure out what I’m going to say at the presentation, how we’ll present the mark suit, and which luxury suite we’re staying in. I’m still going on that one at the Palms that place was sweet. Hey, hey, don’t make me come over there and give you the pouty eyes about this. You don’t want the pouty eyes. Alright fine we can talk about this tomorrow. Chao.” Tony Stark sighed as he finally ended the call, stomping out of the high school as he shook his head and closed his eyes from behind expensive Oakley shades. Things at Starks Industries have been chaotic about the Consumer Electronics Expo in Vegas coming up in two weeks. They had a lot of things to present, but most of all Tony Stark was going to have the Mark III combat suit make its public debut. A lot was riding on that, Tony knew it deep down. While the rest of the school’s students went to their cars or to the buses. Tony took another route, slipping over to the school’s football field. Glancing around for the coast to be clear before he slipped his shades off. Putting them into his pants pockets and adjusting the backpack slung over his shoulders before reaching over and pushing a secret activation switch on the bottom of the bag. Quickly the backpack sprung to life, its mechanical limbs going down his arms and legs. Covering them in red and yellow painted metal. Finally coming around his chest and up to his head. Where the face cover slipped over. “All systems go.” The gentle english voice rang into Tony’s ear. “Excellent, GPS me to the mansion, and start the mp3 player, eh… lets go with The Prodigy to start.” Tony responded. As the thumping bass of ‘Breathe’ kicked in the helmet. Tony got the repulsor rays working to lift him up off of the grass field. Burning it in the process as Tony mentally realized his going to have to pay up for that tomorrow morning first thing. As Tony rose up into the air he got himself taking off to his mansion. Looking like a humanoid jet fighter zooming through the skies too quick for most below to process it. All the while Tony smiled from under the helmet. The world had no idea what was about to hit it. His father was hoping that his son could grow up strong and athletic. Pushing Reed into sports early only to see his son not really able to handle it. Instead Reed began to show an almost unprecedented intelligence. Reed rapidly excelled in his grades and was being advanced through grades rapidly for any resemblance of a challenge for him. All still though, Reed never got his father’s approval and never seemed to be able to please him. His father wanted an athletic child, something to make up for his own difficulty in making it as a pro football player. As his father made living at his home more and more difficult Reed wanted to find a way out desperately. Finally he began to develop new patients for numerous inventions and using his savvy marketed them out to companies. As the money began to roll in Reed used it to earn degrees in numerous fields from highly accredited colleges like MIT, California Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Columbia University. As he earned more and more Reed began to consider what to do with himself. However after meeting another young man who had a genius intellect and parents who seemingly couldn’t accept it the idea came to Reed. The Future Foundation, a non-profit organization that acted as an interning young think tank program, and providing scholarship funding for those in need. It was when Reed started studying at Empire State University that he first met Susan Storm. A new member of the Future Foundation, Susan brought with her a theoretical engine drive that worked through quantum energy. All of which sounded like groundbreaking history in the making. Providing funding and whatever other things he could. Reed helped set up the project, and got investors interested through proof of concept tests he handled himself. However as pressure mounted to see a full scale testing, Susan tried to suspend it feeling it wouldn’t be ready for some time. However it was Reed who convinced her they should give it a shot. A moment that has since haunted Reed. Since then things they didn’t count on from the full scale test mutated the four of them. Giving each of them powers. Naturally a dork like Reed immediately thought about the idea of using his powers to fight crime, not unlike the comic books he used to read. He was too nervous to bring up the idea though as he tried to figure out how to halt or even reverse the radiation based changes in them. Finally though after the team were able to stop a monster that was created through a scientist getting radiated began to attack the city. Since then Reed has brought up the idea of the group using their powers for good seriously. Having the group go into controlled robbery scenarios and other real world situations to test how well they’d be able to handle being a team of superheroes. For Reed there was a subliminal joy in it, like he was in some superhero fantasy camp. Finally a year later and Reed has begun to make the ‘Fantastic Four’ project of The Future Foundation known in the media. The fear inside of him mounting that he prays he hasn’t made another mistake. Powers and Abilities (What can you're character do? What can't they do?): Reed is an extremely brilliant man, to the point of often being considered the smartest in the world. His defining quality however is that his body becomes elastic and he has complete control over it. This allows him to use his body for either offensive or defensive purposes. He can squeeze through openings sometimes even as small as one molecule's breadth. He can twist or reshape his body or stretch roughly three miles fully extended before physical pain. He can flatten himself to the thickness of a sheet of vellum. Due to Reed's distaste for violence, he will usually wrap an opponent up in his body to attempt to control and compromise with them. To trap an opponent, he can also flatten his body and smother his opponent until they give in. Reed can also change his appearance and even animate a inanimate object. He can concentrate his elasticity into one area of his body. For example, it can all go to his fist, making it an effective offensive weapon. This can increase his strength and size considerably. Though he has many great physical feats, his intellect is also considered a power of his. He is one of the smartest in the Marvel Universe, showing himself to be even as smart as alien civilizations. Because of this, mind control is useless, though when it does affect him, it wears off more quickly than on an average human. Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue): As he leaned over the balcony railing, glancing down at a large group of young well minded students were all in various sized groups. Working on projects that could someday change the world. Reed Richards sighed to himself as he strolled away from where he stood. Hands into his pocket as he kept himself well dressed as this was his pet project and he was a CEO of it. Reed went to his personal office. Closing and locking the door behind himself as he glanced around the sparsely decorated room. “I really should work on this place more.” Reed muttered to himself, scratching the back of his head. As Reed glanced around the room a bit more. Almost really just making sure no one was there (A weird concept, considering Reed had a state of the art security system installed on the door). Reed glanced down at himself, at his own hand as he focused for a moment. Watching it grow bigger, and into a more mallet shape as Reed smirked to himself. “Hai-YA!” Reed yelped as he swung his mallet hand around. Laughing like an idiot. Sure his powers were certainly… unique. But God it was such a fun power to have. Reed was now like some cartoon character come to life. The amount of times Reed would stay behind at Future Foundation HQ. Hanging out in the testing chamber, and just trying anything his imagination could come up with. Most of it working, some of it somehow still a bad idea. While Reed was swinging his arm around like a hyperactive child. Making inaudible noises mostly resembling the sounds a lightsaber makes. He ended up smacking it into a shelf, one of his decorative pieces on it coming crashing down. Reed stopped himself immediately, quickly adjusting himself as his hand went back to normal. “Reed, you okay I heard something in there…” Came Willy Lumpkins, one of Reed’s day to day managers for Future Foundation. “Yeah I uh um…” Reed awkwardly called out, a finger going into the collar of his shirt. “Was uh… doing stuff… and stuff.” Reed meekly called out with an awkward smile. Christ he was such a nerd.
