[@shylarah] great question ! I actually considered Aromantic but it sort of didn't fit with what I had in mind. Also, I didn't want to jump into it and misrepresent it. To explain it the best I can I'll describe it that the characters have some sort of "hole in their heart" that needs to be filled in some sense. Because they never had the feeling of romantic love - but have seen it in others they skew it and get into relationships with others because of what they see. In my introductory post I wrote up it's possible that they would get into a relationship out of convenience but the relationships are on a minuscule level that never gets too far. (Which is why everyone starts out single in the beginning of this story). I don't want to spoil too much but in the end, some people might end up not finding a person but still filling in that hole. So in short the characters are not aromantic (though someone can write their end as them identifying as aro). But that they feel/know they are missing something they should have and want to desire something romantically. (Though it's all up to how the characters are written) I hope this clears up some things for you, to be honest it was a bit confusing to put it all together and it's still a story that's a work in progress.
