Cici shook her head, eyes closed tight. [color=lemonchiffon]"Nobody hurts them..."[/color]

Her eyes snapped open, blue again. [color=yellow]"Nobody hurts my friends!"[/color]

It was only by keeping her Pokemon's wellbeing at the forefront of her mind that she was able to pull free, falling to the ground in front of Tommy. Fatigue took over again. She propped herself up, staring at him with her shining white gaze.

[color=lemonchiffon]"You came to take me away..."[/color] she said. [color=lemonchiffon]"You came for me this time. But would you keep helping me in a year's time? Five years? If anything happened to me then, would you even know? Or care? Humans are fickle beings. I've been let down once. I won't let it happen again."[/color]

Before she could say anything else, the green glow reappeared around her. She let out a cry as something began to rapidly drain what little energy she had, pulling streams of the light towards it.

A Shiinotic emerged from the greenery, its glow much brighter than that of any of the others, and becoming steadily more intense.

In another burst of light, all four or Cici's Pokemon appeared, ready to defend their trainer even in their weaknened state. Either the Pokeballs had been jarred by the ruckus, or the Pokemon had somehow heard the commotion.

[color=yellow]"No!"[/color] Cici yelled, staring at Forte and Dulcet, who looked ready to collapse. Beside her, the two children fell to their knees, surrounded by the same green glow. It wasn't the Sylveon who had put the curse on her, or on the others... This absurdly powerful Shiinotic in front of her must have grown bored of her and the other captives, deciding they were more trouble than they were worth.

As it readied a ghostly purple beam - Confuse Ray - to fire at Epsilon, Cici had an idea. [color=yellow]"Dulcet... if you can, Safeguard,"[/color] she called. Blue force fields appeared around all of the humans and their Pokemon. [color=yellow]"Now, Ligeia! Sing!"[/color] The Igglybuff started singing a soothing melody. Behind the barrier, which blocked the effect, Cici watched the Shiinotic drift into a deep sleep.

It was exhausting just to turn her head to look at Tommy. [color=yellow]"Quick! Use a Poison-type attack!"[/color] she said, glancing at Epsilon. Surely a Poison-type move would do a considerable amount of damage, even if this Shiinotic did seem much stronger than the others - just how many people had it drained?

Ella nodded as the old man asked her if she wanted to heal her Pokemon. [color=hotpink]"Yeah, thanks,"[/color] she said, handing over the Pokeballs. [color=hotpink]"And we were going to call it a night anyway. No matter what an exciting place this seems."[/color] The man's warning was worth listening to - Ella had grown up in a town that could be dangerous enough at night, after all. Still, she couldn't wait to explore the next day.

[color=hotpink]"Huh?"[/color] She looked over at Leisy in surprise. [color=hotpink]"I didn't know Pokemon actually did that! I guess now we've both got Ghost-types, we'll have to train them not to cause too much trouble,"[/color] she said with a slight laugh. [color=hotpink]"As awesome as they are, they really do seem to like their pranks."[/color] That was when she realised something. [color=hotpink]"Hey! At this rate, you'll go up a rank as a trainer in no time!"[/color]
