I imagine it's hard to get an accurate reading on these things, as people will lie their bums off until the end of days in order to fit in.

This actually reminds of an AskReddit thread about the flamboyant homosexual male voice. 

Someone said something like "Half the people say they can control it if they want to, the other half say it's natural." Well, I bet the other half has plenty of liars on their side. If you're doing an out-of-the-ordinary voice in order to fit in, you probably wouldn't fess up to it when asked about it. Or rather, certain types of people wouldn't.

My point? People are fake.
