We think there's been a bit of fogginess about our short-term plans for Astridh/Eydis. We saw her becoming a bit stuck, with no room to truly grow on the bridge. Many of the long-term plans we have for her hinge on things that cannot occur on the bridge. She needs to grow as a person, rather than as a bridge officer. Especially considering the top-heavy bridge crew. With both a captain, an XO and a group of WO/TO/NO, four out of which are PCs, there's very little room for extra growth personality-wise. She's the sort that takes command when there's need for it, but doesn't go out of the way seeking it. with both a captain PC and an XO PC, that probably won't happen anytime soon on the bridge. Based on that, we decided to take her off the bridge for a bit, so that she could grow. We've been working on getting her interacting with people from there. With the exception of Fallen's Joseph, the only interaction attempts have been trying to pull her back onto said bridge, where she'd stagnate and remain undeveloped. As such, we'd greatly appreciate collab requests [b]not[/b] involving the bridge. Eydis does want to get access to the Asgard core, but neither she nor Astridh would outright ask someone. -------------- One small thing, Sep/Tearstone... Could it be beneficial to recruit more players? There are a few role holes that could benefit from filling. Especially that of someone Astridh can work with/on on-ship to get closer to accessing the Asgard core. There are many sorts that might fill such, but one idea we had is that of some sort of biological science geek who might get along with Astridh. Probably fairly independent and strong-minded. Though it could be otherwise too. We don't know exactly what would fit best. At least not how to put words to it. We can't create such a character ourselves, simply because collabing with oneself is not very beneficial. Another role that might be a nice PC to gain is a "walter"ish one. Someone of fairly low rank on the ship, but that is a bit of a fix-it-all. The sort that doesn't like promotions, but works well. The sort that everyone can rely upon for various things. Maybe a bit of a go-between for scientists and military personnel. A third role that feels lacking, though that could change, is a science officer. Basically someone military, but who understands all or most of the technobabble the scientists come up with and translate it to language the military crew understand. Might be more important to fill this than the WO role. More scientists in general would also be nice, wethinks.
