Vera spoke up. "We have been more comprehensive with our patrols since getting spheres to accompany them. No patrol is ever going to be purely made up of machines, but the manpower saved means that we have been able to explore the cavern further and keep a wider safe area around the city." Vera tilted her head to one side and lifted a hand. "Of course, trust was something to overcome. Well, it still is in some cases. As well, the spiders have been useful for retrieving items out of reach or in dangerous places. We have been able to recover yet more artifacts in our own territory thanks to them."

Even if it was perhaps not her place to speak, Ariel found words coming out of her mouth as she stared down at the spider on the table. "That is simply amazing! Do they work up on the surface?"
