[sup]Interacting With: Connor Vos and Quinton Matson ([@Caits]), and Magnus Bane ([@BlackPanther]).[/sup]

“Hey, calm down.” The sound of another’s voice caused her ears to peak, yet another deep and threatening growl emanating from somewhere deep within her chest as the sight of movement caught not only her eye, but also her attention, causing her to turn her head ever slightly, her brightly glowing eyes lifting to meet with that of the man who seemed intent on approaching her- he was either extremely brave, or exceedingly stupid… and that was when it hit her. The smell of chocolate… freshly mown grass… and something a touch smokey filled the confines of the ambulance, wafting over to her, and filling her senses forcing her to keep her attention locked onto the man before something else caught her nose- wood… books… smoke… all so familiar, and all too hard to resist as they engulfed her, almost completely overwhelming her, but before she could let it, the terrified whimpers of the medic pulled her back to the present, causing her to refocus, and to hold her ever unwavering grip over his throat, the tips of her claws now stained a brilliant crimson red in color as she dug them just that little bit further in, causing the man to once more struggle against her hold. Calm..? Why was everyone telling her she needed to be calm..? She was calm. Completely in control of her actions. Barring her sharp canines just that bit more than before, Kaylee once more turned her full attention back over to the medic; the sorry excuse for a human whimpering pathetically for his life to be spared, over and over… honestly, who in the hell hit the repeat button..? Her cheek was wet… the feeling of a course tongue slipping out over it a couple of times piqued her interest, though she did everything within her power to keep from turning to him… from looking back at him… knowing that the moment she did, any resolve she had would be gone. There was something about him; something about him that had everything around her stopping- that had her mind filled with thoughts about him, about the both of them… together. It wasn’t the first time he had managed to find his way into her thoughts- the first had been at the grocery store on her first day in town, the second when he had offered her a lift after she’d managed to get herself lost looking for the regular meeting place… The thought had crossed her mind… thoughts about just why it was she seemed so drawn to him the way that she was; but she refused to believe it… She’d been told, straight out, by her alpha back in Australia that it was something that happened only when a were-creature met their true mate… the one they were destined to be with for the rest of their lives; but there was no way… it just couldn’t happen- not to her… not like this… “..because he is human, and you are not. We don’t kill the innocent, young one.” “Listen to the wolf, puppy, and gently put the nice snack down.” Another voice… another figure in the ever increasing group filling the back of the ambulance; though this one seemed a hell of a lot more condescending than the first was. Unable to help but snarl in anger at having been referred to as a ‘pup’, Kaylee narrowed her brightly glowing yellow eyes, her gaze focussed intently on the prey she had in her grasp. “This man is not that werewolf. Killing him will only cause a mess.” Honestly… was it so hard for people to mind their own business..? She wasn’t stupid, she knew that this man wasn’t the werewolf that had attacked the camp; but as for causing a mess… it was well too late to worry about that. Her friends, every single one she had only just made, were all laying down on stretchers bloodied and ripped open because some bastard of a wolf decided it was a good idea to go on a rampage, and to chomp down on everything that came into their line of sight… now how that wasn’t a mess, she wasn’t sure. “Taking a life is no easy thing, young one. Find your anchor.” Her anchor..? That was gone; long gone, she could feel it, and now-… now she didn’t know what it was anymore. Even if she wanted to pull herself back in, she couldn’t, it was impossible and she wouldn’t know where to even start without going back to the basics and using pain to force her back to her human state. “Find the thing that keeps you grounded, and do it now.” Snapping her head around so that her gaze met with that of the male speaking to her, Kaylee snarled angrily, her fangs barred in warning though she seemed to pull herself back only slightly, the sound dying down to nothing more than a growl as finally, she tore her gaze away from him, instead letting it come to a rest on that of the wolf beside her, and instantly, it was as though all sense of realization came crashing down upon her, causing her to quickly turn her gaze back to the paramedic she had held firmly in place. What in the hell was she doing..? This wasn’t her… this wasn’t who she was… Retracting her hand quickly from the man’s neck, Kaylee took a step back from him, her eyes (now returning back to their normal color) flicking back and forth a few moments before they fell to her hands, the sight of the man’s blood over her claws causing her to shake slightly as slowly, they along with her canines pulled back, disappearing from sight as she once more began to gain control over herself. “I-I-… I couldn’t-… I couldn’t protect them… I couldn’t stop it…” Shutting her eyes tightly, Kaylee took a few moments, doing what she could to stop herself from falling victim to the familiar sting she felt flickering across the surface of her eyes, though when she realized there was no getting away from the tears, she turned, her gaze once more meeting with that of the wolf before finally, she reached out towards him, her movements hesitant… careful… almost loving as she slid her bloodied fingers back into his fur, her arms wrapping gently around the back of his neck, she closed the gap between them, pressing her forehead lightly against his as she gave in, allowing the tears to stream down her cheeks and into his soft fur. “I-I couldn’t stop him…”
