Aside from all the other problems with your attempts to kill off what would remain of Vale, how would this make them different from the White Fang?
It likely wouldn't. Honestly the sheer emotional trauma of seeing what he had hoped to be a new life for him get forcefully taken back due to the ghosts of his past would make Gren irrational and attempt exactly what I mentioned. Gren and Adam are more alike then I care to admit, it's just that Gren has just enough self-awareness to realize that maybe how he's doing things aren't the right way, though still self-righteous enough to think there's no other solution. That is to say, Gren is aware that he needs to gather a force to fight and equally if not more so powerful force, but it's a toss up if he wants to tangle with the Fang, take on Salem and her forces, or see if he can still salvage something from whatever local forces are available. The idea that he just finds his friends and family and try to settle elsewhere won't be an option he's going to consider.
