She was taken care by a gang in which found her after being dumped by her mother near their hideout. Due to her quickly developed skill of pickpocketing, she became the more notable figures of the growing gang, often victims of her dealings caught off guard of her young stature. As the new state of Nazari began to grow in population, they began to ravage neighboring towns, oftenly destroying them to make room for themselves. As they reached Mikhail, they burned down the outer slums before attacking the civilians. Fleeing samaritans rescued Artemis from being trapped under a cluster of burning wood and treated her wounds. Once they arrived at Amad, one of the known kingdoms, she would find other ways to make a living. [b][color=6ecff6]Adulthood:[/color][/b] Living the criminal life, she was offered fortunes and ‘gifts’ for her work. Being rich didn’t interest her after her long life of struggling to earn. Feeling empathy for those in the slums, she gave most of her money away for them to live in comfort. Ending up in another prison, she fell in love with a “Knight” from the kingdom of Morcos. Though the two kept their identities from each other, they shared mutual feelings and kept in touch after her quick escape. They adored one another and would wed after she would return back to him after meeting with her ‘brother’ from Mikhail. For this part of her life, she acknowledged happiness she felt at the time. As the state of Mikhail began to collapse to Nazari, Morcos offered three of their troops in which one her husband served in. The result was a disaster, Nazari found out their plans of attacking and had them surrounded before killing most of the troops. Artemis had found her husband’s body as the other spouse's searched and burned their bodies to ‘release the dead’. Grieving had never ended for Artemis, she never speaks much of her beloved but does find herself thinking of him on a daily basis. After gaining money from his death, she took over a piece of land and offered it as refuge for the forced out civilians of the lost state. It would be named as Salaam, in which the title of ‘Lady of Salaam’ would be given to her.
