Day To Day Attire: Outside the realm of Combat, Icarus will still keep his Breastplate worn, however the rest of the armor is replaced with more casual and plain garments. A simple gray shirt underneath the chest piece and a fur vest layered over the top, with dull gray/brown leather pants that are best suited to travelling through various regions Strengths: Strength, Endurance, Focused Weaknesses: Stubborn/Tunnel Visioned, Maneuverability, Blunt/Rude
Psychological Attributes
Vengeful * Unyielding * Protector * Rash Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Single Personality: Due to both his blunt nature and lack of concern for social grace Icarus can come off as abrasive and aggressive upon first approach. Those that manage to stick around him though will find despite the rough outwards personality, Icarus can be someone that one would call a friend. His experience from his training have left him with a sense of justice and desire to protect those he deems as his comrades. While Icarus is by no means slow or dim-witted, his rashness can result in Icarus preferring simple, straightforward approaches to problems. Icarus is more than happy to cede the problem solving to those that are proven capable planners. Though one should be careful as Icarus can be rather vengeful and is more than happy to hold a grudge for extended periods of time if it turns out their plans result in serious danger to himself Icarus can maintain himself suitable in crowds or social situations when required by as a man of action he avoids this situations where possible. In the end, despite his rough edges those that manage to become his allies will have someone that would happily march to death’s door with them if the situation called for it Habits: During the down time, Icarus will often find his hands drifting towards his sword or otherwise fidgeting with his blade. Cannot help but make his displeasure known when interacting with those he dislikes such as dark looks or dismissing shaking of his head Hobbies: Icarus is also seeking to improve his swordsmanship. Additionally, he studies topics surrounding the nature of existence and life due to his connection of it. Fears: Necromancy/Death Knights, Arctic Regions, Forced Helplessness Likes: Fire, Heat/Light, Combat, Competent Allies, Drinking, Blacksmithing Dislikes: Cowards, Cold, Demons, Tricksters, Strict Social Conventions
Skills
A listing of skills, such as horseback riding or cooking. Levels include novice (1 pt), apprentice (2 pt), journeyman (3 pt), expert (4 pt), master (5 pt). Each character can spend 21 points & only two skills can be mastered.

Weapons - Sword/Shield Style (Master): Having trained with a Sword and Shield for most of his life, the fighting style provides Icarus the perfect mix of defense and offense as needed. The shield can just as easily become a weapon of blunt force as the sword can be used for defensive parries.
Weapons - Martial/Simple/Improvised (Apprentice): During his years of training, it was required for Icarus to try out most weapons to find those that he was most suitable with. Though he prefers the Sword and Shield style, his training with other weapons has left him capable of at least wielding any when required
Survivalist (Journeymen): After spending years travelling across his world, Icarus has had the time to refine the set of skills for surviving out in the wild. In general Icarus is able to find a suitable resting spot where available when out in the wild and is capable of foraging for food in the environments where it is available.
Magic - Healing (Journeyman): Icarus has a natural talent for Healing magic though due to his own regeneration he has never pursued it further. These magics are best suited for out of combat
Magic - Fire(Journeyman): Icarus also has natural talent for Fire magic, though due to lack of formal training his skills are unrefined. Though he can conjure somewhat powerful spells, they struggle to focus on a single target and all most originate from his point of origin.
Awareness (Journeyman): After years of combat and adventuring, Icarus has honed his ability to sense the natural surroundings, often allowing him to tell when something is amiss with a situation or there is a subtle change in the atmosphere. He is not skilled enough to tell why a change may have occurred, only enough to sense that there may have been one
Intimidation (Apprentice): Due to his rough nature and imposing presence, Icarus can often appear Intimidating despite the lack of any ‘formal training’. This will normally only work on those that are faint of heart, more hardy individuals would often just see Icarus as a brute

Talents & Powers
A listing of unique powers, magic, artifacts, and techniques. A maximum of four only.

Dragonwurm Blade: An ancient blade from an Age long since lost to the ravages of time. It is said to have been forged in the blood of a great Red Dragon, its essence forever imbued into the blade. The blade itself is deceptively heavy for the size of the sword, its centre seeming to glow like the embers of a fire. As the vigor of combat grows, the blade itself seems to burn with excitement as well, cleaving through flesh and metal with ease as the length of the blade begins to burn. For those skilled in the use of Fire magic, it may also act as a conduit of power, slightly amplifying spells that are funnelled through it. Despite the eons of combat it has seen, it is as undamaged as the day it was forged.
Essence of the Phoenix: The world of Siriande has born host to many ancient creatures, their physical forms long since having yielded to the passage of time. Despite the death of their bodies however, their essence has lingered in the world through various means and will often infuses itself to other creatures who still walk the earth. Such is how Icarus has the Blood of the long dead Phoenix within him. Through its blood Icarus has his natural talent for magic and regeneration and also has an immense well of endurance from which he can drawn upon giving him the appearance of immortality to the untrained eye in combat. However this well of power does have a limit and if emptied Icarus would lose many of his natural abilities
Regeneration: Linked to the Essence of the Phoenix, Icarus’s heritage bestows him with the unique ability of regeneration. Though the ability is incapable of replacing lost limbs or replenishing fatigue that occurs from the loss of blood, it can easily close small wounds, knit together broken bones during the course of combat and allowing Icarus to fight on from what would be otherwise crippling wounds.
Wall of Steel: Though Forged during the same age as the Dragonwurm Blade, the Shield wielded by Icarus is the lesser of the two items. Though rare, multiple instances of the item exist leading many to believe that the items were crafted together to outfit an order or small army. Despite this though the shield’s have proven to be incredibly resistant to damage, absorbing some of the force of vicious blows to protect the wielder.

History
Parents: Father’s location is unknown, Mother is alive and lives is Katu Siblings: Has two siblings, an older sister and younger brother who are both alive. Current Location is unknown Childhood: Born into the ever warring region of the Iron River, Icarus was born to into a simply blacksmithing family. Due to the use of a blacksmith in a time of conflict, his family did not suffer from poverty though it was not a rich life. Expected to take up after his father, his early years were spent watching his father and when able beginning to lend a hand and gain an understanding of the craft. Such a simple life was not to be for Icarus however, as the war-front eventually moved to consume his village. Its defenders overrun, the townsfolk were conscripted to various tasks; His father forced into constructed more weapons and armor for the army while the rest of his family was pushed into manual labour, digging through ancient ruins and unearthing strange objects Due to the past events of Siriande, powerful magically artifacts lay hidden beneath the surface. The army that had conscripted Icarus’s family into their labour force was keen to find these artifacts and use them to gain an edge against their enemy. After working as a slave for many years, Icarus would eventually stumble upon an Artifact his captors so badly sought. In an Ancient shrine dedicated to fire and all manner of creatures born for it, Icarus would find the lingering essence of the Phoenix. While Icarus’s own memories of the events that followed afterwards are scattered, in the ensuing chaos and destruction he was able to escape with his mother and a number of other slaves, travelling north to the Katu region. Adulthood: After eventually settling into a new life, Icarus still desired to know what had become of the rest of his family. Drawn towards both the idea of becoming a Knight and seeing it as a method to track down his family, he began to seek out a way to become one. Thanks to the unnatural abilities he had gained, he was able to prove himself as a capable squire and in turn a capable Knight. Through the years he trained he studied both his body and his mind, seeking to understand more of the abilities he had only began to uncover. Once he had finished his training, he turned his attention back to the war-torn region of the south. In the years that he had been gone the south as he knew it had changed as well. With few leads to follow, he began to search for his family, seeking to learn either their whereabouts or their fate. Special Moments: While training in the Katu region, political unrest erupted into what would become know as the ‘Katu Rebellion’. Though the full extent of the politics were lost on Icarus, he knew that there was a strong chance he would be drawn into this fight similar to his childhood if he avoided it and instead through his lot in with the side he saw more in-common with. Over the following months he proved himself as formidable foe in battle, able to wage into the thickest of combat and emerged alive and at times seemingly uninjured. Though the war was eventually settled via a peace treaty between the two sides, tales of individuals like Icarus and other skilled individuals who had participated spread through the lands During his later travels, Icarus had encountered a group which would refer to themselves as the ‘Black Grail Knights’. This group of unholy individuals comprised of Demons, Necromancers, Undead Abomination and Death Knights had heard the tales that had spread after the ‘Katu Rebellion’ and gained a strong interest in Icarus. Hounding him over the course of the next few weeks, Icarus would come to know that they sought out secrets related to immortality and regarded his connection to the Phoenix as one such secret, and that they would take any measure necessary to find out how it worked. Though he has been able to escape them so far, they continue to hunt him and have become a strong source of fear Current Events: Icarus had been following up on a potential lead as to the where-abouts of his family. Resting at an Inn as he prepared for the travels the next morning, he awakes to find himself in a very unfamiliar setting.
World

Siriande is divided into five main ‘regions’, mostly separated by the lay of the land and the ruling group of the surrounding land:
The Western Continent - The Western Continent of Siriande is one of the more prosperous regions of the world, housing three major ruling powers that hail from the cities of Kharbaragz, Pefield and Katu. Kharbaragz acted as the major mining and industrial power of the region, producing many of the raw materials that would be used by the other cities. Pefield was the centre of magical studies and education of the region, built upon an existing structure that appeared to have stood the test of time, it’s strange properties had made it of great interest to the scholars of this era. Finally Katu acted as the hub for merchants and traders in the region, all sea trade came through the city and had made it quite a financial power. Due to the accumulation of wealth and goods brought by traders in the region, many farmers and small villages have settled around the city of Katu. The major port of the region is nestled inside of the toxic Jungle and is mostly managed by a more mercenary force than official power. Due to the multiple factions and the focus on trade, the Western Continent is home to many of the world’s races, and while some races are distrusted by the local populace very few are outright banned save for Undead or other products of necromancy/dark arts. Climate: The Western continent is rather wet, frequently having showers on a near daily basis though it is rare for the rainfall to be heavy enough to flood the region. Such weather makes it ideal for the farmers of the region and it is known for its long flowing green fields. Overall the temperature is rather cool and makes travelling rather relaxing. Ruling(s): There are three major ruling powers:

Kharbaragz - Mountain Kingdom of the dwarfs and the primary mining district in the west. While the primary mining area is home to dwarfs, a secondary town more friendly to the other races has been set up at the foot of the hills. The family that originally established the mines are rulers of this region
Pefield - An Ancient Elven City and the major ‘Capital’ of the West. It is an imposing city with tall towers lined with gold, forged in eons long past by a mighty empire that has been lost to the tales of time. Ruled by the Court of Imperials, a collaboration of various races. Due to actions taken in the ‘Katu Rebellion’, there Court’s number has been greatly reduced
Katu - Other ruling Kingdom of the area, has a central ‘Castle’ from an the previous age that has has been restructured to be the centre of power for the Golden Guard Guild The place is run by this Merchant guild and the ruler is voted in from the members of the guild. This member will continue ruling until they die or they step down. Normally a member will step down if their policies are causing economic troubles for the group as a whole. In the events they don’t, there does not seem to be a problem for accidents to be arranged
History:
While at first the ruling government for both areas had found themselves as useful allies, soon enough the Imperials began to believe that unification of both their kingdoms would be in their best interests. The ruling guild of Katu whoever preferred their independence, knowing if they came under the arm of the Imperials they would lose some of their power. Not taking the refusal lightly, the Imperials took the capital of Katu by storm and began enforcing their rule over the land. Alarmed at the actions, the merchants guilds at first begrudgingly accepted the hostile take-over, not wishing to incite war. However as there fears were confirmed and the Imperials began to enforce laws that circumvented their power, placing it all in the hands of the council, dissatisfaction began to grow until it boiled over and incited a civil war. Unfortunately for all involved, the region became split between those that supported being united under the Imperials and those that preferred the rule under the trading guilds, disagreements from both sides escalating into bloodshed and marring the countryside as outbreaks occurred all over the region. Knowing they needed to address the situation, the Imperials moved their army into the region, attempting to take control by force but the merchant guilds were able to rally those in their own lands and hire help from the eastern coasts to match the force. As war raged across the lands and no sign of clear victory was in sight, the rebellion began to employ more drastic tactics, both training and hiring assassins to take the war to the council themselves, as in their eyes if they were so willing to spill the blood of others it was only fair for the war to reach them as well. Having had a large period of time of not having to worry about such tactics, the Council members who often placed themselves in the open as public figures made easy targets and many fell to the hidden blades of the rebels. Outraged, believing the rebels to be engaging in dirty warfare, the Imperials launched their own brutal counterattacks, firebombing entire towns with the powerful artifacts and magics they had amassed, entire sections of the landscape burned to a crisp as they attempted to force the rebellions into submission. The worst attack was the firebombing of Caer Mola, the believed headquarters of the rebels, and the attempted firebombing of Katu. Caer Mola was nearly entirely destroyed, the populace in the thriving city forever scarred by the attack while the attack on Katu was thankfully prevented with only circumstantial damage. By this point in the war, the Assassinations had taken a toll on the Council, over half of the members were dead and with the failure to destroy Katu, they finally conceded defeat, the remaining members on the Council knowing that any further losses could de-stabilize their entire region. The Rebels themselves united under the merchants that had helped to keep the Imperials out of the region as they attempted to stabilize their own lands before returning to how things had been. Despite the ending of the war though, there was no celebration, much damage had been done to both sides, and the sentiments of anger at each other were far from gone. Each side knows that the peace offer was only for temporary respite, tensions still hang high in the air and the chance of war reigniting is a real possibility that hangs over the head of everyone in the area. These is no centralised powers and few permanent settlements. Climate: The Southern Continent is far drier than the other parts of the world, though there exists enough water to sustain life there are many regions of harsh deserts separated the few towns that exist. Dry, hot, containing blistering winds and plenty of sand, The Southern Continent is not an ideal travelling location though with preperation it is easily do-able Ruling(s): There is no major ruling group for the Southern Continent, instead it is in a constant state of flux as multiple groups war for supremacy. With no rules or laws across the desert, the only safe location is the city of Erorth, which acts as the port for the region. Fortified so it cannot be easily taken over, it is one of the few places merchants will travel to trade History: Constanty and Bloody warfare. There are a number of ancient and more recent ruins new groups constantly enter the region attempting to make an empire for themselves. Few maps contain the locations of towns as they are always changing. Though there are few major cities in these regions each of the islands have a thriving community that benefits from the sea trade between east and West Climate: Very Tropical weather, plenty of rain and very humid, though there is often a nice cool sea breeze coming off from the water. The shallow sea is a rather calm ocean thanks to the buffer formed by the islands but heading towards the northern seas will result in encountering far harsher weather. Ruling(s): Each Island has a major capital formed around the Sea-port.
