[@Dusksong] & [@Tyler][/sup]

Capture the flag? Sebastian raised an eyebrow as he shot Jonas a look. Clearly the man forgot how old the group of students before him was. Still perhaps it could be an opportunity for some much needed stress relief. At least so Sebastian thought until he was assigned a team. "Seriously." Sebastian muttered louder than he should have before standing and stretching out his legs. Seeing Brynn head off with the flag, Sebastian couldn't help but roll his eyes at the girl's enthusiasm but at least it was nice to watch her leave. A smirk crossed his tilted head before he stood up and gave chase to his teammates. Coming to a stop, Brynn panted lightly and waited with tensed muscles as footsteps came closer. That better be either Aiden or Sebastian, Brynn thought, getting ready to run should a face other than the two she was looking for appear. Having used a burst of speed to close the gap, Sebastian raised his flashlight to his chin and ignited the light as he stepped out from behind a tree putting himself directly in front of Brynn. "Boo." He sneered before flicking the light off. "Looks like Jonas dubbed you unofficial leader." Sebastian started with a smirk. "So what's the plan boss?" Brynn resisted a flinch as the boy suddenly appeared in front of her in a flash, rolling her eyes when he started his antics again. “Did you happen to see where Aiden was?” she asked, looking behind the boy. "Probably off making plans to backstab us all with Belle or something." Sebastian said with a shrug of his shoulders as he blew air out his mouth to move a loose strand of hair off his forehead. The unmistakable flick of a lighter producing flame sounded out from the dark, as the little orange dancer illuminated Aiden's face. He was leaning against a tree, smiling to himself as he heard the pair's exchange. He let the flame die, chuckled slightly, and slowly walked over to join them. "Nah," he said, an air of confidence about him as he stood beside Brynn and Sebastian. "Teamwork makes the dream work," he jibed, without an ounce of sincerity to his tone. "And trust me, tonight will be the stuff dreams are made of." he said, flicking forth a flame once more as he looked Sebastian dead in the eye. Sebastian couldn't help but notice the change in Aiden's body language as the other teen appeared from the darkness. "Man, whatever you got a hit of I sincerely hope you're planning on sharing." Aiden scoffed. "Heh. Sure. Don't worry your pretty little head," he taunted, not breaking eyecontact with the boy for even a second. "I can guarantee we'll all be sharing before the night is over." A flutter of brilliant red passed through the air between Aiden and Sebastian, breaking their glares. “Sebastian. Aiden. There's a game going on right now, and you two need to put your differences behind you for the moment," Brynn said, looking at the two boys. "Lehrer didn't mention a punishment, but I wouldn't put it past him, so I hope that -- for my sake, if not yours -- we can all work together to win this stupid game.” The boys looked at each other, eyes full of spite and hatred, but it seemed they conceded that Brynn had a very solid point. They remained silent, allowing her to continue. “First things first though, I'd prefer not to be titled 'team leader,'” she said, grimacing. The title implied that she'd be responsible for the outcome of the game, and she didn't want that responsibility -- especially not with this particular group in this particular class. “Secondly, we need to figure out where to put the flag. Any ideas?” "You don't want my suggestion." Seb said with a grin as he turned to Aiden. "What you got?" "It's fair to say I've got a few tricks up my sleeve," Aiden smirked. "Though I'm sure I'm not alone there. Everyone's got a secret, right?" he said, throwing Sebastian a knowing glance. "Heck, I bet even Little Miss Perfect here has a surprise or two in store. Her friend Winter sure does." he continued, turning towards Brynn. He looked at her fiercely, his lips silent but his eyes swimming with bold accusations; curled at the edges with satisfaction. "Feel like sharing?" Brynn paused, confused. What was Aiden going on about? A secret? Brynn had a few she could think of, but none of which-- “Sadly I'm fresh out of ideas right now,” Brynn said with a flat glare, hoping to close the discussion on whatever Aiden was insinuating. She didn't like where the conversation was going and had no intention of seeing it to its end. “We need to hurry up and find somewhere to stash the flag. The other team won't be waiting on standby for us to finish arguing.” "Ugh." Sebastian groaned as he moved faster than Brynn could react and snatched the flag from her hands. "Want something done right..." He muttered jumping onto a nearby maple and began to scale the branches. "No one looks above their head and it should be easy enough to keep someone from climbing this fucker." He called down to the other two as he continued to climb until he was about fifteen feet up. Balancing on a branch, Sebastian reached above his head and tied the flag around a branch before pulling several nearby branches to block the flag from view. At this time of year the tree's leaves were slightly more scarce but at least the red flag would disappear in the hues of crimson and orange that were overtaking the normally verdant leaves. Releasing his balance, Sebastian swung upside down using his legs before taking a hold of another branch below him and swinging to the ground. "Who wants to stay here?" Blinking in surprise, Brynn looked up when Sebastian's voice called down from the trees and realized that the boy had just moved past her at an extremely fast speed -- one that shouldn't have been possible. What had just happened? There was no way Sebastian had actually moved at such a speed, right? Glancing to Aiden, Brynn saw that the teen had a knowing smile on his face, and her mind skipped back to his scuffle with Sebastian earlier that day. There'd been a fire -- from the lighter, but who in their sane mind would set the person they were fighting with bare hands on fire? Taking a breath, Brynn set the thought aside for the moment. “I'll stay here then. Clearly Sebastian ought to be on the offensive, with his speed and all,” Brynn said carefully, not exactly knowing what she was saying anymore. She didn't know what to think, but she'd seen Sebastian's movement firsthand and had nothing to refute the theory that Sebastian was, in fact, able to move at superspeed. “In fact, Sebastian should be able to get the other flag quite easily, so it's up to you whether you want to stay here or not Aiden.” Aiden's smile was unfaltering; eerily so, in fact, that it almost gave him the appearance of some wild madman. "Agreed," he said. "Seb would make a wonderful hunter. He's got that natural predatory instinct, haven't you Seb?" he cooed, knowing exactly what he was doing. He was prodding a sleeping beast, and every minute of it excited him. There was a certain type of power that came with unearthing the group's secrets, and in that moment Aiden felt like a puppeteer playing through his finest scene. "Man, I did not hit you this hard." Sebastian muttered as Aiden starred him down with his Chesire grin. "You are one creepy ass motherfucker." Sebastian muttered as he cracked his neck. "But yeah, whatever I can go on the offense. Whatever puts space between me and this dippy mofo." Tossing his flashlight around in his hand, Seb looked at his two teammates. He had never noticed it before tonight, but he had excellent nightvision, it was as though night had yet to fall and yet here they were in near total darkness and Sebastian could make out the details of his two teammates almost perfectly. "Think I have a bit of a biblical idea to screw with the other four anyways." He added with a grin. "You see, we're supposed to be bonding, Seb," Aiden jeered. "I was thinking it would be cool to join you. You know, see you in action and all." he beamed. "And as it happens, I have my own plans for mischief this evening." he added, punctuating it with a smirk. "Together we'll make light working of stirring this damn class up. And it is way overdue." “Mischief or not, let's win this game,” Brynn said at last, a little wary of her classmates now. Was it just a coincidence that Sebastian, Aiden, and herself had been sorted into this strange class that just started this year? Whatever it was, Brynn didn't like it -- not one bit. And she wasn't about to let loose now after years of successfully hiding her abilities away, especially not for some game Lehrer had orchestrated. Unless... Unless everyone has some sort of power, Brynn realized, thinking through their class roster. Had something been off about each and every one of them? She couldn't think of anything right now, but her power was perhaps the most discreet one. She would literally be able to hide the flag in plain sight. “Defensive suits me fine,” Brynn said, nodding as she looked up at the flag. As it was hidden so well, she'd have some time on her hands to work out how to hide the flag before the other team realized where it might be. “It's a plan then?” "Suppose so, although I'm not so sure about sticking together." Sebastian said weary of how quickly Aiden had decided to join him on offensive. "Might be better to flank from either side of the meadow, but you do you." Sebastian said as he started off. "Although I doubt you'll be able to keep up to me." He added as the two began to leave. "Should we really be leaving Brynn by herself though? I doubt she can distract three other players even with that cute ass of hers." "Oh, I'm not worried about her, I'm sure she'll manage," Aiden replied, ignoring Sebastian's critiques, but then stopping dead in his tracks and turning back in the direction of their 'base'. "But it wouldn't hurt to lend her a hand, right?" he asked, looking playfully at Sebastian before dragging his arms through the air. In their wake, a streak of flame soared through the woods, erecting a fiery barrier between the boys and Brynn, and with little concern for the latter's wellbeing. It soon swept up the dry boughs of each nearby tree, licking the night sky and giving off a considerable amount of smoke. He turned, and nonchalantly began walking towards the base of their opposition. "Like I said," he added, not looking at Sebastian. "I'm sure she'll manage." From the middle of the meadow, Jonas Lehrer caught sight of the burst of light from within the northern part of the forest. A small smile crossed his face as the smell of fire reached his nostrils. Walking back to the camp, Jonas ruffled through his belongings before retrieving a rather rough looking box. Lifting the lid off the box, Jonas hand felt the cool metal of the gauntlet within before pulling it on and reaching for a rugged leather bound book within the backpack. Runes etched into the metal of the gauntlet glowed as it came in contact with his skin and he turned back towards the meadow. "It begins."
