Leisy Takigawa
— Outskirts of Stillwater — As it turned out, Tyrus could not only swallow berries whole but also loved them, leading to a rather fruitful — literally — training session in which Leisy learned that the Ghost-type could use Hypnosis, a rather unreliable but interesting move that would cause the opponent to fall asleep. A passing Bellsprout had taken the brunt of that move, although it also became clear that Tyrus didn’t have any major damaging moves. While Lick was an offensive move that sometimes resulted in paralysis and theoretically could knock a Pokemon out, it took much too long for Leisy’s comfort — the battle with the asleep and then paralyzed Bellsprout dragged on so long the Plant-Poison type woke and fell asleep multiple times. After returning her Ghost-type, Leisy released her Ekans to give it another go at befriending the Poison-type. “Hey Cassia, it’s been a few days here, hasn’t it?” she asked, looking at the snake Pokemon. The Ekans flicked its tongue out to taste the air, eyes scanning its surroundings warily before coming to rest on the female trainer in front of it. Leisy took the Pokemon’s silence as begrudging acceptance and looked around for an opponent. A Sewaddle emerging from under the bushes caught her attention, and Leisy checked her Pokedex screen for possible moves to use. “Poison Sting, Cassia,” Leisy said, pointing at the Sewaddle. The Ekans at her side blinked, golden eyes flashing as it slithered over and lashed out at the passing Bug-type. Reeling back in shock, the Sewaddle sustained a slash to its midsection, retaliating with a Stun Spore. Thankfully it missed, allowing for Leisy to order another Poison Sting and then a Bite to finish off the battle. “Good job,” Leisy said with a grin as she squatted down near her Ekans. Looking at the fallen Sewaddle, Leisy pulled out a Pokeball and threw it at the Pokemon, retrieving it after it stopped rocking back and forth. “Bug-Grass type — this’ll be interesting,” she said before throwing Cassia a berry and returning her. A look at her belt caused Leisy to realize that she now had six Pokemon — meaning that she was now a Skilled-rank trainer. “Well. That was a little underwhelming,” she said to herself, half-amused by the lack of accomplishment she felt. She still had a long ways to go before she lived up to the “skilled” part of her rank, but Leisy wasn’t even close to done. The trek through the woods and back to the Pokemon Center was a short one, and Leisy was knocking on Ella’s door before long. The Nurse informed him that neither trainer had checked into the Pokemon Center yet, prompting Cillian to walk out of the Center and look for them. Spotting the pair near the mission board, Cillain made his way over. “Tora! Juana!
