I vaguely remember a conversation a long time ago about someone wanting to use magic (I think it was a RP hopeful but they bounced) but some people here said that magic doesn't exist in the RWBYverse, it's just people using dust. TO which I had replied that true, Dust is not Magic, and neither does Magic involve Dust, but that doesn't mean magic can't exist.

[hider=RWBY Spoilers]Episode 8 had Ruby question Qrow about how magic exists alongside the likes of the Maidens and such, and while it wasn't entirely elaborated on, it would at least imply that magic exists in the RWBYverse, even if there are very few practitioners of it. Cinder and her associates obviously have some sort of magic powers, and I'd hazard to guess that Glynda Goodwitch would too. I mean, it's in the name, and last I checked she isn't blasting people away with a revolver and I doubt she's the type who rely solely on her semblance, assuming that her semblance is telekinesis. Ozpin is obviously doing something pretty magical too with that Oscar kid.[/hider]

Anyways way back when the hammer was dropped that magic doesn't exist, but now it does. It opens up many, many doors.
