Chevron signed a deal to [s]drill[/s] [i]frack shale[/i] fields in Western Ukraine a couple weeks before Yanukovych repudiated that EU deal and started the protests. I doubt it's a coincidence, nor that the Ukraine has shale fields in the East, primarily a Russian-speaking area, either.
