The twenty-one year-old was beginning to regret making such a commitment to showing up for her daughter's "Parent's Day" event, long-buried feelings of nervousness and resentment re-surfacing for the first time in years. Aside from all of the strange looks she'd no doubt be getting for being so young, there was always the (very probable) chance that a teacher would recognize her. If that happened, well, she could kiss her hard-gained lifestyle of relative peace good-bye. As if sensing her thoughts, Soot wrapped his right arm around her shoulders reassuringly. "If it gets bad for you, we can leave. I'm sure it won't hurt Siri's feelings." He whispered, leaning into her. "I don't think she expected us to come at all, to be honest." At this, he looked slightly ashamed. Typical. Internally shaking her head at her fiancé's- no, husband now-sensitivity, Datura wordlessly begin pulling him through the crowd of excited families. She would never admit it, but she missed the girl she'd nearly killed only a few years ago just as dearly as her softy of a man. "She's got to be around here somewhere...if she isn't still smothering herself in blankets." Datura was very familiarized with her daughter's indulgent sleeping habits. "With any luck, one of her teammates woke her up before-" the ex-Beacon student was cut off by a gentle poke to her back. From the way he jumped, Soot had felt it too. Both of them turned around to be met with the sight of a beaming brunette. "Mom! Dad!" was their only warning before being caught up it what could only be described as the world's most enthusiastic group hug. Soot, bless him, reciprocated immediately. Datura, on the other hand, was caught off guard and froze, a feeling of dread racing up her spine. Those words...shaking her head, she managed to choke out "O-oh, Si-Sepia, you startled me." Right away, the brunette's expression of enthusiasm shifted to worry as she pulled away. Datura wilted slightly as her daughter said "Sorry, I forgot. Nothing loud or sudden." Feeling guilty over discouraging her friendliness, the older girl attempted to move onto a different subject. "Don't worry about it. So, where's your team? Unless...you've managed to misplace them somehow." She smirked.
