I am interested, and if I may throw my two cents at all of you, in my experience we should definitely leave cannon characters out all together. It allows for more creativity to go into the thread. An AU seems like the best choice, trying to completely rewrite the history of the cannon world is way to much. [sub][s]Also I am not caught up, (oops).[/s][/sub]

Also one to three crews would be fine, rival or friendly, and maybe a Marine crew (depending on how many people we have), but if we spread people too thin you have to potential of having a player be ignored, or left out. So we may want to keep it as condensed as possible without limiting player freedom. 

The idea where everyone comes up with an island (or even a dew islands) and an event to go along with it, is a pretty good idea to me. It would be fun to see what people come up with. And it would definitely allow for this to be more player/character based.
