[@Jones Sparrow] Valus 2.0

Name: VLS-482106 AKA: Valus Age: 36 Race: Varg Appearance: A typical looking Varg, once upon a time. Valus stands at 6'9 and his insistence on bodily improvement have given him a highly developed musculature made for overpowering foes. His skin is pale white, like bleached bones, and crisscrossed with many scars. His eyes are a piercing white, faintly glowing in low light. All in all he is fairly ugly by Varg standards, all hard edges and damaged skin. Then we move on to the machinery, the things most people will notice first. Strapped to his face and back is the machinery keeping him alive as his lungs had to be replaced when he caught "Dust Lung", a side effect of breathing in molten Warpstone fumes that resulted in corroded lungs. One thing you won't notice at first is that the left side of his chest has been replaced with machinery, needing room to insert the refined Warpstone core to power his new arm. The arm itself is slightly too large and heavy, causing him to slouch and walk with a odd geit. As is common with Varg cybernetics, they are incredibly uncomfortable to wear and make getting a good night's rest nearly impossible without heavy sedatives. Valus carries himself with a constant annoyed scowl and tense, but precise movements. Faction: Marauder, Varg Revolutionary (Former) Role in Team?: Weapons maintenance, most weapons are childsplay in comparison to the nightmares of Varg tech maintenance. Extra gun. Bio: Valus' life is hardly anything special. He was an officer, tasked with not only fighting on the front lines but also with maintaining peak combat efficiency. His was a life of drills, combat, and the brutality of his uncaring superiors. In truth Valus himself didn't question the status quo, not out of some sense of duty but a begrudging acceptance of what had always been. However, as he saw more and more of the galaxy, he and his men had grown to be envious of the freedoms of others. He and several others began to plot something that haddn't happened in generations, a revolt. It started small, at first, replacements for "broken" equipment were called in while the other officers began to seed sedicion into the men which trickled down to the miners below them. By the time command had caught wind of what was happening nearly two hundred angry Varg were in arms, waiting for any excuse to begin their resistance. Funnily enough the whole thing started with a word, "Korgish", a derogatory description for carrion eating vermin aimed at a miner. The Outcaste didn't even see the fist coming before it collided with his throat. A deafening silence hung in the air for what seemed like an eternity, then all hell broke loose. The riot that ensued lasted for five bloody days, the miners fighting with an almost gleeful ferocity as generations of abuse was released in an orgy of violence. People were impaled, vaporized, crushed, and a slew of other bloody ends as the Loyalists fought to regain control. It wasn't until reinforcements came did they begin to beat back the rioters into submission. Most were executed on the spot, if they didn't go down fighting, but Valus, his conspirators, and Outcaste that rebelled were shipped off to the Galactic Committee most likely to shove a bigger wedge between them and the Common Caste. Last Valus heard, it didn't work. Ever since then Valus has been a Marauder, traveling with a crew for nearly two years before a pirate raid forced the survivors to be split amongst various captains. He has been assigned to the Monroe just recently, finally moving in completely after a prolonged grey period. Personality: Valus is your typical Varg, a hulking brute with a dour, joyless attitude and little understanding of the intricacies of kindness and compassion. He is stoic and doesn't know how to open up to other about pain, both physical and emotional, as doing so would be a death sentence on Vrakkas. Instead he keeps to himself, only interacting with others as much as he needs to out of a skewed sense of survival as if at any moment the Families will swoop down from the void and make him disappear. On the outside he is quick to annoy, his patience smeared thin by lack of sleep and constant discomfort, but would hardly ever raise his fist in anger unless he sees something truly monstrous. Having just left the heel of the Families nothing makes his blood boil more than seeing abuse of power, the only surefire way to cause the generally reserved Varg to break out in angry bellows. However should you strip away everything else, the pain, the anger, the flicker of rebellion yet to fully alight, you will find that Valus is just incredibly tired. Weapon(s): Varg Flayer (Incomplete): The pinnacle Varg weaponry, the Varg Flayer is capable of "stripping" targets into nothing molecule by molecule. Or it would, if Valus could get his hands onto refined Warpstone cores and the last few secrets that are lost to him. As it stands this weapon is no more than a glorified laser cannon, effective in it's own right but a far cry from its true potential. This weapon is only slightly stronger than your average laser rifle, able to puncture most standard armors and shields but also needing to be charged and watched for overheating. Bolt Revolver: Something he picked up from his previous captain's corpse, this weapon is as effective as it is mundane. The slugs fired from this gun are incredibly dense and heavy, but lack penetrating power. What this equals is a handgun that punches through all but the most powerful personal shields and knocks targets wearing armors straight on their asses. Saved the captain's life quite a few times, Valus expects it to show him the same courtesy. Cybernetic Arm: Slightly more streamlined than those given to miners, this arm is nonetheless slightly too heavy and pokey. His normal "hand" isn't the most articulate piece of hardware, but it's grip strength can crush titanium helmets without an issue. Otherwise he has many other attachments that he can switch out for maintenance purposes, like a soldering iron or screwdriver. Star-fighter: N/A Family/Relationship?: Has sired several young but as law decreed he was not allowed to see them. Other: Valus speaks with a deep, metallic voice which is punctuated by ragged wheezes and hacking coughs.
