The Units were quickly breaking through the confusion of their breach. The reality of the situation was sinking in immediately to many of the people in the room. Some were hyper-sensitive to the situation, while others were too slow to react altogether and left themselves at the grips of defeat. However this fight was just beginning.. more so than they truly knew it to be. "I'm afraid, sir, that I can't go along with all of this. I don't seek further communion with magic. And furthermore, I don't seek to be set apart-- antagonized-- in any form, more than I already am. Why can't I just be satisfied with with my current state of affairs? This problem, now that I been given its particulars, is one I don't find especially pleasing". Kira left the room after protection herself with bend light, glad that she had told the taxi driver to keep the gas running. However, once Kira stepped outside she found no taxi or it's driver. In reality the Taxi driver had sped off nearly the moment she stepped inside the motel. This was Mrs. Freemark's doing for the assurance of no unwanted witnesses and the easy retrieval of potential leavers. Which is exactly what began to transpire. Kira was met with an instant surprise as an unmarked Armored Van sped up and the rear doors burst open. A single heavy unit leaped out and fired off his shotgun, releasing a Taser round directly into her right thigh and with it she collapsed into a tased state of paralysis. The ceramite barbs quickly nullified any magic she was channeling as well as the spirits bound to her were dispelled and made pointless wisps as they disintegrated into the air. Kira was now helpless and at the whim of the Government, for the Heavy Unit now grabbed her and threw her into the back of the van before it sped off once more. Kira was the first to fall to the Government, but she was certainly not the last as the battle soon offically began after that mark in time. It was now that the full weight of the conflict arose with both sides pulling their punches in their own way. Someone would of shouted about freezing and remaining still, causing Charles to be confused. He would feel something impact him and his eyes would wide, "Crap baskets" he would get out before collapsing onto the ground. Charles had now fallen in the heat of the initial breach and with him came the arrival of the climax to the rest of the group. Everyone now fully realized the intensity and severity of their situation as Magi. No matter how one tried to rationalize it there was no escaping the ideal, the understanding, the concept that was made clear once through Eric's words. They shouldn't had been yammering on about powers, and confidence tones of how they could utilize their magic. They should have been acting but even Eric couldn't see it coming at such a close time. He would have seen them coming through his senses but their armor saved them that grace. They were void in any magical sensory spells or talents and they were perfectly coordinated for this operation. Thrusting his arms forward, the collected energy ignited the moment it left his 'body'. The size of a mans torso, this chunk of essence roared to life. A flowing river of stars bursting amidst the black backdrop of the nights sky, directed in a cone away from the group towards the assailants, a majority was aimed at the ground beneath them. The inferno of purple would eat through anything it touched with ease. This is the moment that everything when rapidly into the arms of dismay and chaos for the group. It was at this moment the pinnacle point of the time lapse from the breach caused most of the confusion to wear off for everyone. Desmond reacted with a combat strategy that instantly disobeyed Gavin's orders for the group. The Archon-like being was unleashing a powerful blast of energy, as it was released it seared away at the floor-boards and the ground, but it's power was highly over-estimated by it's caster. The five Heavies were instantly in action as he revealed himself and by the time he fired his energy they were dashing towards him with great effort. The five of them surrounded the energy-comprised male and caused his blast to be body blocked, absorbed by their armor, and prevented any major damage. However int he process of closing this gap, the center unit was lost. His armor sustained the most magical "heat" from the blast and was over-powered which caused the unit to succumb to the power of the magical ability. Unit Five was seared away by the purple magic, but his position was filled by the other four as they handled the blast until it ended and closed in up close around the purple male. Now he was unable to do anything, these Heavies wore the most armor and thusly the most Ceramic of the Units. Their combined suits comprised an Anti-magic cage more or less that held the male in place. He could not escape, neither above nor below, and nowhere inbetween them. His body ached and shrieked in fear as the anti-magic aura was so close, practically causing wisps of his body to slowly string out and disappear. He was utterly helpless to do anything for himself, if he wished to escape and survive, he would need the help of those around him. Kasumi opened the door quickly and teleported out, she kept teleporting until she was far enough to be safe but close enough so the building was still in sight which meant her clone wasn't gone yet. She closed her eyes and focused on her clone. The Units weren't idiots, and they planned for practically every possible option. They knew there would be those would run and try to escape the location with their unique magical abilities. However they never expected them to be so reckless with their escape. Kasumi, the groups resident stealth magi had very quickly thrown herself from the frying pan into the fire. For she hadn't noticed that several meters to her right was one of the Sniper units perched upon a small shed. It was at this instant the error of her ways made true fruition for the US Government Operative. He quickly snapped his rifle to the left with a silent motion and then pulled the hair trigger with a gentle squeeze. The unique tranq dart quickly whipped through the air and planted itself in Kasumi's back. The muscle paralysis unit set in within mere seconds and she found herself at the whim of a soft sting and her magic nullified from the ceramic syringe in the tranq dart. The Sniper utilized this time to restrain the Magi with cuffs and a few cloth binds to prevent her from speaking before radioing for the currently active retrieval van to drive around and pick her up, which happened only a minute or so after the call. Immediately, he began to take and control all the water in the air around him, as well as water in taps and pipes. He then and created a much stronger bubble. He had the bubble wrap around him and Gavin and for every person that came close he'd extend it to protect them too. It wouldn't last forever but it would help in the meantime. Another magi, one who was there earlier got hit by the tazer shots. "DAMN!" she thought, as she ran, using the mist as a cover to get the fallen magi (Charles) and bring him inside the bubble. Indeed Master Grey's bubble would not last forever and it would certainly last even less as long now that Mitsuki had dragged one of the already downed targets into the Bubble. The Units of the operation weren't willing to give up their tagged targets, especially the easy ones, and by now even more of the base units swarmed into the motel room and they were opening fire with precision aim. Their shots were still non-lethal flesh-wound-causing shrapnel rounds, but they aimed for problem areas due to training. Legs, backs, shoulders, places that shrapnel would induce great problem for the recipient of the bullet. It was this trained precision that allowed the units to quickly pop the bubble Master Grey had formed with water, but it was the rounds that had caused an even greater effect than expected. Due to the nature of the bubble, upon the round's contact to the surface tension of the water, it would cause them to splinter and turn to shrapnel as if they had met their target but they still had great moment. Master Grey had unknowingly turned his "safety zone" into a home made flak-cannon that now held near-inescapable shrapnel propelled at Mitsuki, Gavin, Charles, and Himself. All while the bubble itself still faltered under the combat. "F-Fuck...A Mist...Won't...Do shit against...Guns...This will...For a bit." Marcus panted, and wheezed heavily, as he took a knee downwards beside his creation of the wave. Chisels of shots being fired against it could be heard as the wall could not prevent rounds fully. It was only a matter of time before it would be broken and they'd have to fall back. The wall had taken up a lot of space within the room, but it helped. Unfortunately, he wasn't quick enough to save the already hit kid. Marcus was in-fact furious at the sudden change in plan. It was supposed to go differently. Marcus was supposed to be an agent on the inside for the Units. They were meant to be entirely safe from his actions, if not his only ones were to be acting as if an ally to the Magi until their capture. However several moments after the creation of the wall and the firing to begin breaking it down, he un-holstered his own firearm and took aim through the wall at the enemy. This was a mark against the Units, against their Boss, and against their cause as a whole. He was now designated a traitor with ease. He had injured a single standard unit with a leg wound which caused the Unit to be unable to walk and push further in. His allies quickly heaved him to the back-line before another shot could be taken, but what was rather grand, was that Marcus never accounted for the Heavies who had run at the Archon-like being, and had been unleashing a maw of Taser rounds at the group. Two of which now quickly flew and impacted Marcus across his body. The first landed in his left upper-arm while the second landed in his ribs on the left side of his body. Marcus had placed himself in this position with a glancing thought and an unreserved nature for watching the events of the world in full. The Heavies silently bolstered their anger in their heads as they had to bring down one of their inside-agents with this Operation, but what must be done, must be done. Brandishing a Federal Badge for the benefit of the task force she was trying to cooperate with, Mrs. Freemark, her green eyes firmly set as the wind blew her red hair behind her back, blocked the motel door and a potential way of escape. With her Mind magic and a strong willpower of her own, she was trying to overcome the mental defenses of everyone except Marcus, causing them dizzyness and confusion to make them easier pickings. Even worse, Gavin's portal was starting to fizzle out. The full scale of the plan came to true fruition as Freemark revealed her true self to the group. She had enacted upon the attack with great coordination and were now stripping the group of their faculties and ability to focus. She was not one to be underestimated at this game of willpower. There were few who could push past her capabilities and it was good for the group that a few existed among them. They would have to fight through this force afflicted upon them, otherwise the whole group would fall to the enemy before their journey ever truly began. This was the realization that would grip into their minds as they all struggled to hold off the situations persistent problems. The group was now held in place by the enemy, oppressed from both sides, all the while the Units were shooting through the wall ever more and were nearly breached, and Freemark held her reigns over the minds of the group. Everything that had been spoken about, everything that had been brought up as a matter of importance to the group, everything that was said for them to fight for, and yet they were barely able to coordinate an operation to leave the damn motel. This though, this passing thought of reality is what triggered the next event..
Eric was caught in Freemark's mental grips, his body was tense and his hands were gripped at his knees with an iron-clutch. He was slowly feeling dizzy, but it didn't last long. Quickly time slowed and his eyes grew wide as he looked about the room, his heart slamming inside of his chest like a pneumatic hammer, and he viewed the scene as it was wholly. He watched Charles go down in an instant to a taser round, Desmond trying to fire off, but being surrounded far too quickly, Master Grey's attempts to protect those working on the escape plan, Kasumi teleport out of the building altogether to leave them high and dry, even watching Marcus through up a wall that was quickly faltering to the sustained gunfire. Altogether it was limiting to him as he understood them and their actions, the ideals that they had all spoken of prior to the fight. How they boasted and bantered of abilities and brains, as if to say there were marvels for their powers they had obtained and yet each of them were facing issues they never truly imagined would be present. These Magi spoke as if they knew everything they needed to know but the enemy seemed to be much more knowledgeable of the entire concept then all of them. Eric was growing more angry than he had all day, the faltering bodies, the invasive mind-tricks of Freemark, the constant ringing of gunfire all around him, and the mere fact that Taser rounds were still being fired inaccurately through the smoky haze created by Mitsuki. It was all pushing at something.. sending it over the edge.. poking it with a stick.. "You think you can stop me, by getting in my head? Clever Girl. You don't release what you are doing in there.." Eric spoke with his mind, letting Freemark openly hear his thoughts as his body tightened ever further and his hands clenched his knees painfully. His eyes closed for a moment while his body ached and pulsated against with a quiver of adrenaline. His entire form was now echoing a sensation through the room, it was like a wave that overcame the atmosphere of the room. He was drawing in his magic to a focal point, gathering and storing it internally, compressing it into his chest and harnessing it entirely. His body was beginning to radiate a green aura that whipped around with the power of the North Winds, and his muscles writhed vigorously as he pushed his limits with the magic. He held his stance and gathered more and more, until his eyes themselves revealed the magical nature of his actions. They snapped open and two brilliant green Orbs glowed among the mist while his voice was heard deep and load throughout the room. "You think your games will falter us, Freemark? Your Mind games won't work on me! I have had much worse mental states from much more mundane experiences..and You think your Guns will shoot us down so easily!? You think I will let us falter at this point so quickly!? They may not have understood the scope of reality... But I certainly do!" He barked with great anger aloud and amidst the room as the magic coming off him overwhelmed the air of the present world, for those who willingly sensed magic, they would almost get a euphoric feeling from the amount of harnessed energy Eric had comprised within himself at this time. "You will all fall.. Freemark." Eric said with little more than a whisper to himself. "COOOOOOWAAAAARDS!" Eric screamed a single word at the top of his lungs, it was drawn out and long, but as it was held it seemed to grow unnatural. The word started out in the voice of a deep southern man, but it grew into a massive roar to the heaven's. It seemed to shake the ground beneath everyone present if not for the shear magnitude of the event's loudness and and proximity. This roar was the cusp of what had came to being from Eric's anger. His words now silent as the man that was once there bathed in a magical aura was now replaced with a massive Grizzly. It stood fourteen foot tall on it's hind-legs and it raised it's arms as it stood there, before the behemoth of an Animal came crashing down with an arm crumbling upon Freemark's location in the hopes of ending the pathetic woman's life in one instant. The beast then growled and writhed as it felt a rifle shot pass through the air and impact into it's thick skin on it's left arm. The grizzly, Eric, quickly darted it's attention to the armed forces behind Marcus' now toppling wall. Eric made his decision instantly and the Magi sent himself into the fray of combat. The powerful entity was lumbering and quickly so towards the remains of the wall before the large beast crashed into it, sending rocks and rubble flying out towards the horde of the armed Units. Many of them were knocked back by the force of the attack and others shielded themselves from flying stone. This was not Eric's only attack however as he immediately hoisted his mighty arms about, slamming them into Units and flinging them back into their own ranks, smashing them against one another and the ground, trampling and mauling them without killing them outright for the sake of the group. He of coursed sustained fire from the units, shrapnel rounds were impacting him across his hide and fur, but it was more resilient thanks to the use of magic. He was more than any normal Grizzly, he was by far the greatest weapon the Magi had unleashed against the Unit's yet. His anger boiled under his thick skin, his mind wandered with rage about the whole situation, and he was certain the others would be able to make it out alive now, with Freemark hopefully disposed of for good. He had willingly acted in the hopes of not only saving their lives, but proving his point to them. Eric was now at the mercy of Combat.
(Caim Post WIP.)
