Okay, managed to throw the post up in a reasonable time for [@TwelveOf8], hooray for breakfast and tea. To everyone, a reminder: I am happy doing this sort of thing, so if you would like me to describe a room for your character, or anything else, let me know and I'll work on it. Sometimes it's nice to write your own to make it just the way you want, but perhaps you want a bit of outside input. On the other rooms, such as the more communal areas, I'll get writing a fairly basic outline for them that can be filled in as required by the characters using them. Hopefully I can find a balance between "putting in enough stuff to give people a sense of what's going on" and "leaving it open enough for people to put their own spin on it". Today (Monday) is fairly quiet for me, as it's mostly juggling things in an oven and putting cakes in boxes, so I'll be about during the day to check on the site.
I'm really into cakes as well. Cakes and Chinese New Years celebrations. I would've enjoyed that hour long struggle myself. Now I'm hungry for cake.
It was enjoyable, just rather unexpected! I still got cake though, so that's fine. Plus, it was one of those things that made me go "you know, London's not so bad sometimes", turning the corner into Gerrard Street and just seeing this huge crowd, all the lanterns strung up, music and celebrations going on, it was a little surreal. I know very little about Chinese culture, so it was difficult to follow exactly what was happening for the most part - there was a dragon, it was going from shop to shop, eating what looked like napa cabbage offered by each shop, and then spewing it back out and going to the next shop.
