Wouldn't it be awesome if, against all the odds, a normal human/hain/ogre/thing without any special powers or godly blessings rose to become supreme ruler of Galbar? That would be quite the story. And that would be the perfect leader - forged in hardship and struggle, fought the odds, grabbed Fate by the balls. Would be a gritty, shrewd kinda guy. Hardcore. Bit of a Philip. Not so much an Alexander (that's too Lif).
