She took a sideways glance at the girl by her side, would Jade make it? Hell, would she make it? Her thoughts were interrupted by a shrill yell, she snapped her head forward only to see a man she didn't know lunge himself at Lucifer. ”No!” she flinched towards him, blade at the ready only to freeze, her arm still in the air and pulsing with energy. Her bright eyes flicked towards the man's blade and recognised it immediately as the angel blade. A spark of hope bloomed in Eudora as she saw the very tip of the blade pierce inside the devil's flesh, but it was quickly snuffed out once Darren's body dropped like a stone. Disgust coursed through her veins and she prepared to attack but froze once more when she noticed Jade was gone from her side, her eyes flicked back at the devil and there she was, standing over the still and bleeding bodies. The sudden tranquil was shattered by the brat's screeching and Eudora wrinkled her nose in disgust. She glanced at the child and was annoyed despite her caring and nurturing nature. To Eudora, this wasn't a child, it was a demon masquerading as one. She saw past that soft round face and saw him for the hellish spawn he was. Eudora was robbed of the satisfaction of killing the devil, she wasn't going to be robbed of the satisfaction of killing his mistake either. She stepped forward, not bothered by the looks she was going to get by committing the act and just plunged the knife into the back of the boy's head. A quick and easy death, Eudora didn't care for the "child" but she wasn't evil either. The boy's body dropped like the rest, splayed out and dead-eyed as blood dripped out of his wounds. Eudora for a moment felt slight pity but quickly pushed the feeling out, years of dangerous magic has taught her a very valuable lesson. What must be done must be done, and if it involved killing a child, then so be it. Eudora straightened up again, pulling the blade from the boy's head with her still and uncaring expression as she washed the knife and her stained hands with the holy water while muttering some dead latin prayer for the deceased. After, Eudora took one last look at the church, one last look at the blood, the gore, and the grief. She turned and stepped out of the building and into the crisp and cool air. She breathed in the calming winds and leaned her stout body against the church door. Looking at the world she helped save, Eudora felt a sense of pride swell in her, the thrill of being there to help felt amazing. Perhaps this time Eudora wouldn't retreat back to the woods only to come out a century later to stop another apocalypse, this time she wanted to help again. Perhaps hex an abuser or blind a stalker all while sipping tea sagely and spouting riddles that only made sense at the right time. Eudora would now finally attain that human interaction she craved, that sense of control and power, and it only took killing the devil to find the best way how.
