There had been, in fact, no supernatural activity at Altsoba, as Amelia explained. A hallucinatory chemical had been put in the water, and with the religious paranoia about the end of the world, the residents of Altsoba slaughtered each other. There were only a few survivors from the tragedy. "A new cemetery, named Owen's Field, is dedicated in the memory of those who perished in the massacre," Amelia continued. "Forensic units are still attempting to identify all of the deceased. The following individuals have been confirmed casualties: Lysander Adder, Vivian Adder, Caitlyn Smith, Elizabeth Hawthorne, Joel Schroeder, Daniyal Lohi, Howard Brighton, Jessica Sorreast, Danica Graves, Samantha Hunter, Zachary Carpenter, Katsumi Mitsukuri, Scarlet Warrington, Sylvia Strange, Amy Chang, and Darren Andrews." The names of the dead scrolled across the screen. As Amelia continued, it was revealed that the President would be attending the funeral service at Owen's Field. The town of Altsoba is no longer inhabited, with all the survivors quickly fleeing. It hardly seems likely that anyone will want to return. "However, a small religious sect explains that the Altsoba massacre resulted in the death of the devil," Amelia finished up. Her smile, while still grim, had more of an air of humor to it. "And now, it's time for sports." Six Months Later... While the general public might believe that the apocalyptic events that struck Altsoba and the world at large never happened, there were those who knew better. The devil may have perished, but the supernatural continued to roam the world. There were ones who attempted to do good--white witches, prophets, and benevolent vampires--but there were also those who did not. The supernatural were called necromantics, and in the privacy of the Oval Office, a covert operation was set up to rid the world of the remaining supernatural threats. The Organization for the Methodical Eradication of Necromantics, nicknamed O.M.E.N., was responsible for the cover up of the events at Altsoba. This organization knows no grey areas--if they encounter a supernatural being, they slay it. Some of those in the know call it corrupt--others simply call it merciless, efficient, practical. But curiously, its first leaders, a pair of brothers from Kansas, vanished two months ago... Aloise Zamora and Liam Matthews: After the events of the apocalypse, Liam asked Aloise to teach him to hunt. She refused, instead training Liam to protect himself. The pair of them are roaming the country on a glorified road trip, with Aloise eagerly wanting to see it all. She wants to travel the world some day. There have been some attempts to recruit them by O.M.E.N., but the pair of them have shied away. They aren't that different from those O.M.E.N. hunts. A prophet and a dead girl are better off keeping to themselves. Belladonna Crypt and Javier Crypt: These two lovebirds ended up taking another honeymoon (their third? sixth? tenth?). They're touring the sites of famous serial killers in the U.S., with plans to relocate to Transylvania. The love birds had already put a payment on a decrepit old manor house, when Belladonna became pregnant with twins. Currently, the twins are going to be named Warkleigh and Elvira. The Crypts couldn't be happier. Eudora Erebus: Our little forest witch gets out of town, wanting to go as far away from Altsoba as she possibly can. And this turns out to be New Orleans, Louisiana. Rather than staying in the confines of the woods, Eudora adapts to a city-ish lifestyle, opening up a small little shop. Those who need magical favors come to her for advice. From time to time, a pair of O.M.E.N. agents will come in. Walter Hanson: It didn't take O.M.E.N. long to issue an arrest warrant for Hanson, classifying him as a terrorist. His exact crimes aren't revealed to the public, but per the conditions that O.M.E.N. was created with, he'll be sent to the electric chair. His whereabouts are unknown, with supposed sightings in Brazil, Texas, and Alaska. Jade Cornish: Jade returned to England, having had enough of the United States for a while. And instead of seeking her father's approval, she went to her uncle, the only real family she ever had. Working for the British government in some more than covert operations himself at this point in his life, he knew all about O.M.E.N. and warned Jade against bringing Darren back to life. She would be killed if caught. She currently works for her uncle in covert operations dealing with necromantics, at the seemingly more benevolent British equivalent of O.M.E.N. One week ago, she was contacted with an offer to run the American branch. She has not refused. Mercurial Crypt: She relocated to Transylvania, having been accepted at the University of Bucharest. While her parents are still in the United States, Mercurial went early, beginning her program in psychology and death studies. They allowed her to design her own area of concentrations, after some not-so-subtle persuasion. Seraphina Addams: The PI business is a bit slow in New York, but it isn't that bad. She comes home one day to find a street kid, Emmie, hanging around the apartment. The girl helps her out with a client, and Seraphina takes her end, serving as her legal guardian. But as much as Seraphina tries to find information on the supernatural, she only hears whispers of an organization named O.M.E.N. A letter arrives in the mail from Aloise one day, advising her to keep her head down. Seraphina is a fallen angel, after all. Trevor Martin: His fate is perhaps the most tragic. As if the blood in Altsoba was not enough, Trevor was murdered during a bank robbery four months ago. With no friends and family to claim his body, he was buried in Owen's Field along with the victims of the Altsoba massacre. And back in Altsoba, with the dust settling on the city, only a few paranormal investigators have dared to enter, dragging along television crews as they go. The town is desolate, a shadow of its former self. Blood still stains the streets, with no one daring to disturb the place where so many took their last breaths. But within the Reverend's old house, something begins to move...
