Ascot Sky
Height 5ft? Age 15 Gender Male. Race Human/Angel (Seraphim) Power Seraphic Wings - Ascot can project a set of glowing, red-orange wings from his back, wings that go through one's clothing magically and don't rip them apart. With these wings, Ascot can fly as fast as a helicopter, or even a small plane. Aura of Calm - Ascot can emit a feeling of calmness that dampens anger, fear, and pain, allowing people to think more rationally and soothing their hurts. Shield of the Heavens - Ascot can create a magical shield that works against physical force and magical attacks. Willpower of the High - Ascot is immune to mind control, unless he reveals his father's Angelic Name (coughJehoelcough). If he reveals that, he can be mind-controlled by anyone who has both the name and the smallest amount of mind-controlling magic. Healing - Ascot can magically heal wounds, diseases, and injuries. Holy Fire - Ascot can create magical flames that do not harm people he considers friends, allies, and innocent people, but inflicts damage to his enemies that can only be healed by angelic or demonic magic.
Personality
Ascot is reckless, but caring, and he knows that the first part is a problem. He also has a streak of self-centredness and self-righteousness he tries to suppress. Although he desperately tries to be good, he has also found out that his self-righteousness (ironically inherited from his Angelic father) gets in the way of actually helping people. Nevertheless, he feels as though Pakora Academy is a fresh start for him, although he'd done nothing yet that required a first start, thank the Heavens. Oh, and Ascot likes both girls and boys.
Background
The Angel Jehoel, one of the Seraphim, was tasked to go to Earth in order to reinforce the restraints on the Leviathan, an entity of immense, world-destroying power. He did so, but was tasked to prolong his stay indefinitely; God had a mysterious plan. Said plan was for Jehoel to, in his wanderings, find love in the form of a mortal human, Rita Sky, a young lawyer with a desire to help people. Drawn to the young woman's eagerness to put her resources and reputation on the line for others, Jehoel, under a false name and identity, protected her as she went on ever more dangerous cases, eventually revealing himself to her, and, in his mortal guise, marrying her. And their marriage was blessed, as this was what God had planned all along. Alexander, Jehoel and Rita's first child, was patient and precocious, with an early gift for manipulating the natural forces of the universe, not just fire. But he was also prone to moroseness and despair, a feeling that the world was growing worse. He doted upon his brother, Ascot, born three years after he was, with a fondness that was laced with fear, fear of losing his family. Little did one know that these were the whispers of the Leviathan, trying to gain revenge on Jehoel for restraining him... But before this can escalate any further, Jehoel found out about Leviathan's whispers to Alexander, and went to talk to God about it. God, on his throne, mused, muttered about 'needing to clarify the real meaning of certain parts of Scripture', then said: "Your son needs a boyfriend. Or a girlfriend. That will distract him from Leviathan's whispers." Jehoel, surprised, moved to set up Alexander with a neighboring 'compatible' boy a few days later, and it worked, Alexander's 'phase' ended, he became a happier person, and Leviathan had to find another pawn, as Alex refused to listen to his whispers any longer. Thankfully for the demonic creature, Leviathan found his other pawn in Ascot, now jealous that his brother had found someone else to dote on. In further whispers, he encouraged the impressionable boy to act like a prick towards his brother and said brother's boyfriend for attention, hoping to one day force him to escalate to something psychotic and fatal. But Jehoel, now much wiser, interfered, and after giving Ascot a good talking-to about listening to entities that wanted to destroy the world, sent the boy off to Pakora Academy, muttering: "He needs a partner of his own." God, after his own remarks about 'needing to make more clarifications on Scripture', agreed.
