You have been doing a damn fine job making your characters interesting to read about, so as long as you keep that up, things like length will simply come from practice and by picking up tricks from other writers. And honestly, I feel that I still have a long way to go as I'm still struggling at naturally weaving in details about the scenery and writing engaging action sequences. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that one of the most important things you can do is to always read over your writing and find what you want to try and improve on.
