Gotham
Malacoda noted the sudden action, and reached over to his hound, grasping him, and the coat - before tapping his umbrella on the ground.
Uptown Central - Outside In the Gotham Law Library. Gotham
Both he and the beast fell through the ground and onto the pavement furthest away from the building. The moment he looked up he could hear the bomb go off, taking the shock-wave taking out most of the windows in the area. He raised his hand in front of his eyes, but Mephistopheles had already rushed in front of him, taking the brunt of the force. He peered around, the dust and smoke raising into the air, his ears ringing. The area seemed to be evacuated for the most part, with only officials spotted here and there - all seeming to have taken cover in time. Mephistopheles took on his other form and helped Malacoda up, before whimpering as he shrunk back into the form of a small dog statue. With a groan, Malacoda crouched to pick it up, gently stroking it with his thumb as he got up. He placed the figurine in his coat pocket. His eyes turned to the burning building, and he felt his frown forming. He started walking back to the building, now in rubble - frowning through the smoke. He was now truly out of options. He could not even teleport back home at this point. He felt however, that he should go get that stupid, sandy fucker. If only to berate him. How much of a moron could he be. Shuffling through the dense heat coming from the burning books Malacoda felt his ire grow. The whole point of this exercise was to save the building, limit damage - try and keep at least one of the terrorist alive so that they could be interrogated. The best option was to remove the bomb. All he needed to do, was to take care of the two men and then the who situation could have been salvaged. That was why we had a plan A... He stumbled, reaching out blindly and touching a scorching hot piece of wall. He let out a scream, more so of anger than pain, and hit a piece of rock with his umbrella - roaring again.
