I'm not sure how to post a picture here as of yet. However, I changed my Avatar picture to that of my Character for easy reference.
Name: Spade Age: 23 Gender: Male Rank: Noble Species: Human Ability: Card Casting/Combat Divination. Appearance: Spade is 6’ tall. He is thin with a shaggy mop of blonde hair. His icy blue eyes are constantly vigilant and analyzing. Spade normally wears a jacket with a white shirt underneath. Whenever he is idle or a task doesn’t require his hands he is constantly shuffling a tattered deck of red tarot cards. Personality: Spade is a passionate, loving individual. He is confident in his skin and isn’t intimidated easily. However all of this is a facade hiding a deep sorrow. It can be seen in his eyes sometimes or in the way his smile falters. His sadness comes from the death of his younger sister and the blame he puts on himself. Because of this he is quick to help or protect someone that reminds him of his sister. Spade has an urgency to his life. A live life in the moment mentality because he knows his days are numbered. He knows how he will die. The Death Tarot Card. When he draws it, while casting, his life force will be reclaimed by the Fates. Each time he draws he knows it could be his last breath. This has given him nerves of steel, usually. Or at least the presence to not let it show. Spade has a dark sense of humor that was bred from his early life. He is quite sarcastic though caring when it is needed or earned. History: His name was Amor Quinn. His early years were that of nobility. That is until the family realized he didn’t have the necessary ability to be worth anything. At the age of eight he was cast out into the grimy alleys. He raised himself from then on surviving on stolen food, pilfered coin, and quick wits. When he was 15 he touched his first Tarot card and once again his life was changed. While he has a Tarot Deck in his hand he can cast, while without it he can’t even make the faintest spark. He gained his deck from some strange women he ran into on one of his excursions into the woods. He assumes they were the Fates. At this point he changed his name from Amor Quinn to Spade. Upon discovering his talents his family reopened their arms to him as if nothing had happened. This left a sour taste in his mouth that added to his anger from being kicked out. But he wasn’t an idiot and accepted his place back into the society of the easy life. Spade kept a cool demeanor around the elite but was thankful he didn’t have to pilfer to live. Despite this rebound of rank Spade found himself in the slums more often than not. Back in his old clothes, back to his small shack, back to the people that loved because they cared not because of political intrigue. He despises the aristocrat mentality and is sure that is why much of The Empire struggles. Eventually Spade is convinced the Nobles won’t have anything beneath them to hold them up. Then the table would be evened again. This pleasantry is what holds his anger at bay and allows him to coast through the Nobility and thrive in their shadow with the common folk. His sister’s death affects Spade more than he will ever acknowledge. When he was six and she was three they were running through the halls in their family’s establishment. His sister, Isobel, lost her footing and careened down a steep flight of stone steps. Spade missed her arm by inches and instead of saving her had the image of her falling down the stairs burned into his memory. He knew if he had had magic he could have saved her. But he didn’t. Now that he does he tries his best to save others to make up for Isobel’s lost life. Many times pushing himself past his own physical limits to ensure that someone else was safe. Extra: Spade is proficient with some weapons from his time on the streets. As well as the times his Deck thinks he needs a melee weapon. His favorite physical weapons are daggers. His favorite magic ones are pole arms and rapiers.
