“Turkey was pretty cool. I saw a lot of places while I was there. To be honest, I miss it. Uhm, bowling alley? I might be able to find something. I’m not the world's greatest bowler. I know where the one on base was. But that’s not happening. I could look up what movies are showing where.” He double tapped on the windshield and spoke. “Internet.” The windshield became a computer screen. He grinned a little. “Movies showing near me.” He double tapped again. Then he started using the display like a touchscreen. “Any preferences?” Isla had used a couple trigger words. Waste and time. In the past 24 hours he had set a record for wasting time. This was why he had avoided girls. They were a colossal way to consume every free moment. And this one didn’t seem remotely interested in him … at least not like that. No she just wanted to monopolize his time - just like the vacuous airhead cheerleader. What was it about blondes that … Duncan was too polite to say no. He had already noticed Isla’s behavioral quirks. Up until now he had resisted asking questions. But he had spent enough hours with shrinks to know something was up. He suggested a number of movies - the action guy flicks - and watched her reactions. The we're mostly about military or terrorists. He decided those were a no go. He thought she seemed angst and about to nix the movie idea. Then he picked a movie about some girl who wanted to go to an equestrian camp, but was disabled. The words chicken flick popped into his head, but he pointed it out. The other options were Sci Fi horror - probably not good - and some kiddie flicks like Sponge Bob Saves the Earth … Again. There was the Zoo, but that didn’t strike his own fancy. He had to drive past the school and pointed out where a lot of the stuff was around it. Then an idea hit him. Why settle for a movie? He did a quick search on riding lessons. “Got two ideas. One … the horse movie. Two … we go riding for real ourselves. Although, I haven't tried to ride since I was 12.”
