Jack was swift...to the average human eye, but John was not only trained, but experienced with aggressive movement like this (Not to mention whatever scientific improvements he had.) Jack's draw of his weapon, to John's eye, was very projected, predictable, and seemed to happen in slow motion.

As soon as Jack's weapon was drawn, John's big old hunting knife was pressed to Jack's neck. But not only that, John's other hand was free to draw his glock and fire a shot sooner than most people could know what hit em.

"I'd recommend closer ranged weapons for close quarters like these hallways." John half grinned half grimaced "Now you tell me what the hell is going on. Are you some cult's experiment?"
