Background: Veronica was born late 2009. She grew up on the streets and took part in a handful of gangs to make a living. She had always dreamed of escaping the gritty world, and the stories she was told of how nice everything used to be filled her head with idealist notions. Veronica wants the world to be a better place, and she knows that it's going to be a hard fight to get there. Veronica found here moment of freedom when she was busted as part of a security raid by the Neo-Bay police department at age fifteen. Taken into custody, she faced several years in prison but won her freedom by taking a deal that she would serve in their SWAT team instead of rotting in a cell. The training she faced was harsh. Harsher than most, since most of the team didn't look fondly on her for taking what they considered an honorable position as a way to squeeze out of a proper punishment.

When her time was up, she turned around and joined the SWAT team almost immediately. She knew Mack for a short time, but they never really spoke much. When the Neo-Bay police department was disbanded, Veronica wandered without a job since SWAT was all she really knew how to do. She didn't want to go back to a life of crime, since that was the one thing she wanted out of more than anything. She had browsed through some of the various security positions, but none of them really spoke to her. When Veronica heard of COPS being formed, she joined almost immediately once she saw Mack on board. A familiar face in a sea of mystery was a welcome relief.
