I believe a half elf or full blood elf would be acceptable. You'd garner favor with the Elves and some disdain from your own serfs (especially if you were an elf), but it's a cool angle. I've inherently left info on the other nations bland until the game gets going but there are both Woodland Elves and more stoic, isolated High Elves present, so feel free to use either stereotype for your character creation. Glad to have you on board.
