November 23rd, 2017. The day that many analysts consider to be the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005 for many reasons. The most important reason being that retailers, regardless of size, offer various sales including limited amounts of doorbuster items to entice traffic. As a result, customers wait until either midnight or early morning hours for the retailers to open their doors. Normally, it results in small stampedes for the rush to obtain the items that customers desire the most. Among with that, fights break out that the local security usually ends with minor injuries. This year's Black Friday was different. Forty-eight hours later, a sudden spike of hospital admissions occurs in several major cities across the United States. Thousands of people reported having a fever and sore throat and were mistaken as symptoms of the flu and sent home. With hospital admissions on the high, everyone assumed that the flu season begun earlier than usual. Until the first deaths were reported. Officially, nobody truly knows who Patient Zero was other than he died in New York City. As the death troll was reaching into the thousands, the Central Disease Control began investigating the virus and discovered that it was a form of smallpox. The American government immediately issued the smallpox vaccine across the country. Schools and universities were shut down to prevent the smallpox for spreading to more people. Transports goes into lockdown. Unfortunately, the vaccine didn't work on the virus and the death troll reaches ten thousand within five days. In response, the states governors begun sending in the National Guard to contain the virus and maintain order with the cities local police force. Neither of those things helped in the long run as the situation was getting worse. The American government sent the military to assist the authorities in keeping the virus and citizens in line while shutting down the border. International trade halts and the world economic collapses. Containment efforts started in the major cities by containing all of the sick people into one part of the city. In theory, it should keep the healthy people for getting sick while the ill slowly died. But it did nothing. It only had been a week since Black Friday and the death troll reaches one hundred thousand in the United States. Symptoms started to popup all over the world and it soon became a worldwide problem. The President of the United States issued nationwide martial law and ordered the military to maintain order. No matter the cost. Suddenly, power and water across the country shuts down as resources are at an all-time low. And the people start to get restless. Protests and riots erupt all over America against for various reasons including an end to martial law and access to food. The authorities soon lost control and chaos ensured all over the world. In Los Angeles, for example, the local gangs managed to overpowered the authorities there and captured the headquarters for the Los Angeles Police Department. And throughout Texas, the Republic of Texas (comprised of several militia groups) declared themselves about the American military and went to war for independence. Slowly but surely, the American government lost control of everything. In order to restore order and stability, the President activated Directive 51. Signed into law during the Bush administration, the directive claims power to execute procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a "catastrophic emergency." Such as the Dollar Flu. Immediately after the signing, the Division was established and agents all over the country responded to our signal. You are one of those agents. And you only have one objective: restore order for a chaotic and anarchic society. You have been called upon to help out any sort of local authority that align with our goals and interests. And fight against those that embrace the chaos.
