John spoke up "Hey, like I said, I don't really know where I am, so I'd like to tag along on your mansion exploration." 

He turned to the pink haired girl. Cat ears were growing out of her head. Were there now cat people mutants too?

"Hi, I'm John." John said with a friendly smile "What brings you here?"

He figured making casual conversation would be better for figuring out what was going on than running around asking everyone about the mansion.
